Is it possible to move the homologation date? AFAIK The first few cars should be ready in the middle of February and wait 2 weeks for homologation, so I belive the cars are ready, but FIA is full of bureaucracy so I don´t think it is so easy to change the homologation date.
No there are only 4 dates to homologate it, I thought.
I think You don't understand what homologation mean. It's not a pre-event scrutineeering. It doesn't take one hour. It takes maybe more than one month to check everything. The process can be finished earlier (or even later - Fiesta S2000) but the date in papers will be one of those four.Quote:

Yes. That's exactly what happened in Barum rally two years a go when Vizin with Polo S2000 was not allowed to start. The safety door foam and plastic windows were homologated right before Barum rally but for homologation date 1st September which was the date of second leg. FIA stewards didn't allow the car to start.
Mirek, do you know if there is a good reason that FIA don't allow a car to be homologated at any point during the year and have only 4 specific dates during a year?
I guess that it's for them to be able to plan their activities. If anyone could come at any date it would be a pain in the ass for FIA.
Symtech Racing, Facebook:
Availability of Citroen DS3 R5 and DS3 R3T for rent in WRC or ERC !!!
All-in formula with PWRC 2011 Champion team, Symtech Racing from Belgium
Plenty of people seem to be buying these R5 cars, but are they cheaper to rent than S2000/RRC cars too?
I think the homologation tests and paperwork verification can be arranged throughout the year, but the 4 dates where the cars are approved for use from, are set for the manufacturers to be able to plan the homologation process with FIA, to meet one of the dates.Quote:

Nobody knows? I hoped they might make championships such as ERC more accessible to people.Quote:

First official outing of the 208 will be Rally Ciocco(CIR)in the hands of Paolo Andreucci at mid-march ;)
Cool. I guess this also improves the chance of a start for Meeke on COI.Quote:

I believe the running cost is similar with 2.0 NA S2000 cars (much smaller than for RRC). However in my opinion Fiestas R5 has been quite unreliable so far...Quote:

Good news for Alex Perico !!!! He will get his 208 T16 in time for Rally Ciocco according to the excellent italian forum of Rallylink(his car is just after the one of Paolo Andreucci) :bounce:
