Tomorrow wednesday will be published official entrylist of Rallye des Cardabelles(held next week), penultimate round of the french gravel championship :)
It'll be also the penultimate rounds of Peugeot and Citroën one-make cups...
http://www.rallye-des-cardabelles.org/
Rallye du Var is based in Sainte-Maxime, very close to St. Tropez. But be ready for everything. I was there last year for first time and despite I have seen lot of events over world and Europe, this one was really curious...Quote:

Rallye Le Touquet is one of the best especially for safety but some french drivers don't like the muddy conditions at this rally.
Rallye Mont Blanc is really appreciated by drivers because of the roads.
I hope Quentin Gilbert's crash this morning in Alsace(Rallye de France WRC)won't force him to be forfait from next week's rallye terre des Cardabelles, whereas he's leading the Citroën Racing Trophy :mark:
Excellent news for our brit friends of the forum: having won the "junior prize" by Citroën Racing, Tom Cave(winner of last BRC event, rally Yorkshire)will take part to the last round of the french tarmac championship in november, the rallye du Var :bounce:
Althought Rallye d'Antibes is no part of ERC anymore, Luca Betti is back at the wheels of his 207 S2000 on entrylist ;)
It is his home event. It will be easy victory for him...
So, Betti is Italian and lives in Antibes? :)Quote:

As every year in France, there's the Finale de la Coupe de France des rallyes(french rallies cup final), and the 2012 edition takes place in Gap(southern)next week ;)
No idea about entrylist yet
For reminding, last year edition was a very fantastic duel between David Salanon(winner in his 306 Maxi)and Gilles Nantet(in BMW F2000 rather than his Porsche) ;)
Will not be the same level as last year, but it's always nice event. Lot of drivers doesn't to go to Gap, South East is difficult for drivers from North and West ... but that's always the same story. But this time it seems that Gap isn't very attractive ...
always the same story :) It's always nice event, even if some local good drivers are missing ... but the place for the final is a bit strange since Dunkerque ... Hasparren, South West, very close to Spain. Gap, South East, very close to Italy, and Oyonnax ... close to Gap !
In 2011 it was Autun ... East side too, but well placed for drivers from South or Noth. And before it was change from each side of France year by year.
In don't understand why Oyonnax for 2013 ... very close to Autun and Gap ... why not going to West, to Center ? The finale has not to be only in the East side of France ...

not very exciting ... :( maybe one of the weakest of the last years.
CRAZY time by Thomas Privé on SS1 Rallye terre des Cardabelles !!!
5th fastest overall in his DS3 R3T, more than 10" faster than other drivers of the Citroën Racing Trophy...only 12" slower than leader Manu Gascou in his S2000 during the 20km long stage
Privé is an excellent young driver on gravel, indeed, but it's only his third outing in the Citroën ;)
Results to be followed on FFSA | 29e Rallye Terre des Cardabelles - 2012
He was French Gravel Champion in 2008 :) he won two rallies in 2008 (Diois and Vaucluse), had a difficult 2009 year ... he tried to do some international events but could only do Portugal. He did two 2nd place in French Gravel on 3 events. But from this time to now, he never did a complete championship... some events in France Tarmac in 2010, and this year a comeback on gravel, with 2WD cars ;)
Too bad that he has no money ... he is very promising !
A new french gravel star is "born" ??? Stéphane Consani in his DS3 R3T this sunday morning(second leg rallye terre Cardabelles): 3rd best time SS7, 4th best time SS8, 4th overall after first loop
Has anybody got a link to the leader board points table of the Citroen DS3 Trophy going into the last round Rally Du Var ?Quote:

Great performance for Fanguiaire with his beautiful xsara kit car ex-Loeb, 2nd overall after loosing 20 seconds in a spin, and Oberti 7th overall with a C2 !
Stéphae Sam-Caw-Fevre, from la Reunion, was doing a very good rally with his Escort (5th overall), before loosing time in the last stage ...
Rumour of presence of Robert Kubica in the Subaru WRC at next month Rallye du Var...can someone confirm
Cuoq new french champion, after winning the Critérium des Cévennes !
eWRC-results.com - results Critrium des Cvennes 2012
Extraordinary race by Carminati
And so no Cuoq, Brunson and Loix in Var. Bad luck again for Loix :(
Carminati, Princen and Bonnefis did a great rally!
And how about Vivens. 11th overall in a Peugeot 206 :o
are you sure for no Cuoq in Var ?
dupanton : Vivens finished 2 times 10 with 106 and once 7th with Ax (:eek :) in the past ;)
In the French Championship? Never heard his name before :)Quote:

Ok, a pity he hasn't got the money to do the whole championship with a proper car then :(Quote:

BIG SURPRISE !!!! Ari Vatanen's son, Max, will debut rally driving on next week's Rallye du Vaucluse(last round of french gravel championship)at the wheels of a 207 R3T
Entrylist ist rather interesting ;) Team Trevois : ENGAGES
maybe the most interesting entry list this year in gravel champ ...
come back of Baud on gravel (eWRC-results.com - profile Lionel Baud) and come back to rally for Beuzelin, former boss of BSA, who won this rally in 2004.
Interesting too to see two new drivers in S2000 :
eWRC-results.com - profile Nicolas Riviere
eWRC-results.com - profile Stphane Pellerey
He alsos started in Saaremaa Rally around month ago with Clio. He retired on stage 5.

French forums... When it comes to who is going to drive in a certain event they always have a lot of fantasy, I would wait for an official confirmation ;)
One thing is sure : Simon Pagenaud (Indycar) will start the Rallye du Var ! He will do this in a 207 S2000 ... or better if he can !
