Mikko.....hope to come back at last years pace, very dissapointing pace at friendly loose surfaces.Latvala better than Monte, but no near Ogier.Tiedman very impresive, but not the same for Hanninen.Waiting more from him,at least at Tiedmans pace.
Sordo out of his waters completely.
For sure Matton has to think and discuss a lot after Sweden.
Remember someone saying that when Loeb leaves Citroën that he should be kept in a glass case, marked "break in the case of emergency, Ives Matton must be running around looking for a sledge hammer ! :D

Yesterday I returned from a trip to New York City and I suddenly found myself sleeping pretty much the whole day so I've not followed the action too closely, but Ogier is really impressing.
Ostberg I hoped would be better than this, but still 3rd isn't bad.

This is a very challenging sport and sometimes it's those smallest things than can make the difference. Whatever happens, it's great to see more new drivers and teams enter the scene and learn the game - I'm sure we will see a stunning season in WRC in 2013!
Ford M-Sport boss comments on the day:
Mads Ostberg is in third position now. He’s had a great battle on his hands today with Jari-Matti Latvala. What have you thought of his performance?
Malcolm Wilson: “To try and get in front of Jari-Matti and Sebastien was the intention this morning. But I have to say that the pace of the two Sebastiens today has been incredible so we’re very happy that we’ve managed to get on the podium. We go to some stages tomorrow that are quite close to Mads’ home, so hopefully we can still keep the pressure on. "Being realistic, I think that unless that something happens to either of the two guys ahead then we’re going to have to probably settle for the podium. But having said that, on this event this year Jari-Matti was leading then clipped a rock and got a puncture and then Petter did the same. So you never know. Difficult stages and no service? - it could be interesting.”
You’ve had a battle on your hands with Juho Hanninen and Thierry Neuville as well. We saw Hanninen make a little mistake on that final sprint this evening. What happened?
Malcolm Wilson: “There will be no more battle after that little mistake! Juho is really annoyed with himself. It was a really silly mistake and its cost him a position but in one sense its decided the positions so that’s the way they will stay.”
So many young drivers? Yes, but neither of them showed something that would attract sponsors, except for Tidemand. Ketomaa and Nikara in order to get more sponsors, have to make top-6 times and be faster than guys with almost no experience on snow, like Sordo and Neuville. The same goes for Hanninen. Then, there is a possibility that more sponosrs will come. With worse times than all the factory drivers, it's not possible to attract sponsors, in my opinion.
Let's hope for more rallies for all the Finnish "talents" Ketomaa, Nikara and Hanninen, but I doubt it with such a bad performance. :(

With Ketomaa I agree but I think you are being too hard on Hänninen and Nikara. Ok, nothing amazing but considering all the pieces in the puzzle it's too early to say they don't have potential to be in the top of the sport.Quote:

Looks like is taking more wise approach now, which I haven't seen so far from him previous seasons. With so little experience with the car, this is the right way to do it, step by step, without too much drama. Perhaps he had serious talks with the team management. Ostberg is justifying my expectations, and with little more luck on friday, he could be ahead of Loeb now. Lets see what happens tomorrow on "his" territory.
And here is my video from day 2 of the Swedish Rally.
The first place at Sågen didn't work out so well but i walked back a bit and got a massive sideways moment by Henning.
Hope you enjoy and sorry if it's a bit much of the same at Sågen 2 and Rämmen, not always so easy to move around!

Östberg, not Ogier. :p ;)Quote:

That's the spirit!
That has to be the one of the most misleading titles for a youtube video in history......Quote:

It does not change anything, because already now Hänninen has bought his place in M-Sport and if they will find more budget he will continue to use Malcolm´s car rental services, but it can be also some other car rental...Quote:

Ketomaa´s only chance to continue driving World Rally Car will be if DMACK will use him as a test driver. Nikara still has a lot of time to deliver, but it was very bad mistake to go out off the road on the SS 3. Otherwise he has driven very similar times to Henning and would be now 8th or 9th and the top ten was his aim.
I should have expressed it better....Quote:

Of course it is not refused, but VW´s preparation to the WRC has been the most extensive and expensive ever seen and there will be no other manufacturers to do the same in the near future...
