[WRC] News & rumours (part IV) 2016

Red Bull will be creating and producing their own WRC coverage in 2017 along side what we view already.

Also, WRC TV will be broadcasting longer Live coverage and power stages plus 90minute reviews instead of 60mins

Ford Europe is reporting that some big announcements are coming soon..

They can produce 120 minutes of that mediocre garbage they call footage and still none will care. I cannot recall when was the last time i watched the official garbage footage they produce.

They cannot even put onboard cameras at proper places and they will increase footage time ? what for ?

So they can say that they have improved the product by cutting less bad stuff out.

I'm quite sure no one wants longer reviews. The quality has to improve, not the quantity.

So Erik Veiby confirms that Esapekka Lappi will drive a WRCar in 2017, official announcement coming soon. According to this newspaper it's Toyota (that hardly comes as a surprise). In addition, according to Veiby, it's "possible" that Lappi isn't driving a full season in 2017, and that ofcourse is quite obvious, if 1) Latvala is indeed coming to Toyota and 2) Hänninen drives in all rallies (as once again confirmed by Mäkinen in Finnish media yesterday).

I just wonder what was the thing having Suninen testing the Yaris WRC last week? Will Suninen (paid by Toyota) drive one more season in WRC2 and do some testing with Yaris WRC in 2017?

Maybe something like the Abbring/Hyundai role where he develops the R5 and does some rallies - like you say maybe in WRC2. Not sure if Toyota would consider running a fourth car at the end of the year.

Yeah hopefully more than the current pitiful WRC2 coverage. Maybe also a nod to whatever the junior series ends up being next year.
