As for Australia, I expect that they'll lose 4-0 against Chile, 8-0 against the Netherlands and 8-0 against Spain.

Australia conceded 11 less goals than I expected and scored 3 more than I expected. They still lost all 3 matches and were rubbish and that was what I expected.
Now onto Costa Rica v England where I think that Gerrard will play his last ever match for the national side, where Frank Lampard will not be used at all and where Wayne Rooney will score twice in an overly hyped-up 2-2 draw.

This morning, the Group A matches started at 6am Sydney time and so I saw the first halves on the telly but when I got on the train to go to work, I could only find commentary in Portuguese and Spanish for the two matches.

Viva Mexico!

Hurray! There's a God above and from time to time he turns his face to my prayers. I managed to escape from work because the meeting was postponed for tomorrow. On my way home I stopped at Pizza Hut and bought one for warming and getting into the match atmosphere. Now the game can begin. :devil:

I don't know which is worse. The stress of watching England when the match matters, or the depression of watching England [probably lose] in a game at the World Cup when they're already out.

I could get an extra tv set here but I'm too lazy to carry a cable through the whole house.

England v Costa Rica will be depressing Jon, but It could get worse. Costa Rica have been the best team in the group and with our second string out I fear a 2 or 3-1 defeat.

Our 4th Worst World Cup ever will be complete.

I always support South American teams. I think its something to do with the mystery and passion they show.

I want Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia to do well. As I have sad, Brazil are the exception. They have won enough already. I want a different winner.

Anyway Costa Rica looking better than England in the early stages.

Italy has the match under control but 0 - 0 is always fragile.

Both games dull and 0-0 and not in keeping with this World Cup.

None of these two deserve to go farther.
