What a terrible day :(
R.I.P. to all the victims
tragic, however judging by BBC's article why were there spectators in what should have been a prohibited area?
Very sad news :( It has been on the news here in Spain, and I was having to tell people here about rallying and WHY it is a sport I love so much when it is so dangerous. On the BBC News page, I hope they have answers to the person saying that rallying is too dangerous - but I don`t think there are any answers really.... if I read it right, they were standing straight on which is not good - however, I don´t know about the organisation but if an average member of the public arrives and sees that that is an allowed place to stand with a good view, why were they there?? :( :(
I am also sorry for the driver, it sounds like they are blaming him want to arrest him or something :S :(
Here ma video from limousin rally:

Yeah i read something about that too. but without knowing all facts, its wrong to blame the driver.Quote:

From what I read on a French forum, the situation was a long straight with eventually a crossroads where the drivers had to do a sharp right. The fatal car for some reason missed his braking point and went straight on at 150 kph. I don't know how big the safety zone behind the corner was, but obviously not big enough...Quote:

I found this...Quote:

Most probably you're right. Frenchmen corrupt everything they can put their hands on. WRC, Dakar, FIFA, UEFA...Quote:

Finally SS2 and 3 are running properly(but lately)...
Germain Bonnefis went of and retired on SS2 :mark:
After SS3 Noël Tron is leading in front of Xavi Pons and Dominique Bruyneel
In the Volant 207, François-Xavier Blanc is leading ahead of Jérémi Ancian and Frantz Comoli...
Nice time from Karl-Friedrich Beck on SS3(6th best time overall, second of the Volant)and he comes back to the 7th place of the cup :bounce:

Looks like Bruyneel retired on SS4 and Pons on SS5 :(
We would be about to see the Volant Peugeot 207 drivers winning the 2WDs but also possibly finishing on podium(Blanc was 4th overall after SS4)
It's confirmed now that Freddy Loix will drive the whale in two weeks at the Rallye des Vins de Mâcon(next tarmac championship round)instead of Stéphane Sarrazin(running the 24 Hours of Le Mans) ;)

Brunson suspended by the Federation ...
For what? Illegal recce?
He blocked a Special Stage at Rallye Lyon CHarbonnières after being crashed because he feared that an other car destroy his Subaru WRC. The race director refused to call a tow truc to move the impreza.
Explication entre le Directeur de course & Eric Brunson - David Heulin - YouTube
It's the rule, if the car doesn't block totally the stage, you have to wait the end of the stage to take your car back. I think it could be better to stop the race for 10 minutes than to destroy your car with another accident...
Thank You. That's really strange...
Yep, weard :s
If the stage would be stopped when somebody has crashed and is afraid of damage to his car then one stage would last the whole day. Every crew would request for a tow truck so that they could get away from the stage and not wait for other cars to finish the stage...Quote:

After SS2 Rallye du Rouergue, Stéphane Sarrazin leading Jean-Marie Cuoq for 4" and then come local driver Jean-Michel Da Cunha and Dany Snobeck(both on C4s - Da Cunha rented the one used by Tsjoen in Belgium)
Best S2000 is Cédric Robert ahead of Freddy Loix and David Salanon(trophée Michelin leader ahead of the Porsches of Nantet and Rouillard)
Retirement with mechanical problem for Bryan Bouffier on SS2 :(
Now I won't be able to follow the rest of the rally :mark: I'll be in holidays for three weeks far from my computer :p :
Cuoq takes the lead from Sarazin after today's second stage. Da Cunho (local driver with C4) is third in front of Snobeck. Then there is the big fight in S2000 with Robert in fifth and Fast Freddy in sixth, coming back at just 3.4 sec of Cedric.
Snobeck went off on SS9, a field and a tractor burnt at this place but they saved the C4 !
In the same stage, Rouillard Porsche's burnt too !
But everybody is okay !
Cuoq (Focus WRC) is first, Sarrazin (307 WRC) second at 21.3s with braking problems and local driver Da Cunha is third at 1min21.
Great fight between Robert and Loix with their 207 S2000, Loix is at 6.5s
Victory of Cuoq ahead of Sarrazin and Da Cunha.
Robert (with gearbox problem on last SS) won in S2000 for 2.8s seconds ahead of Loix
