Wow! That's a decision I applaud not to ruin the essential character of the event!

I remember when you had the likes of the big Bastos and Marlboro tents in the square and it was banging, (especially with the dance mix of Fast Freddy's car sounds!). After they and alot of other sponsors pulled out, the event was on it's knees.

I must say I'm pleased though that it is getting back up there and there did seem to be more people in the square this year too!

Still think IRC is rubbish though! :D

I was amazed at how busy it was. For shakedown we got a bit lost and approached the stage from the south, it was amazing when we left and saw the number of cars parked in fields and on nearby (or not so nearby) roads. Great to see rallying with that level of interest.

Kangur told that he was driving safely on the first passes of the stages and during the second pass he increased his speed:-) He said that his plan was to rally with his own pace and not race with Princen and Arzeno. His main aim is to win 2WD this year (Arzeno and Princen are not rfighting for the title).

When we went to Boezinge for a service on Saturday evening, and we were astonished too....didn't think we'd be able to park, but blagged our way in to the town and parked off the road.....if that is the level of disinterest in the Historic Rally, then I bet the RAC would love to have that level of disinterest! :)
