I don't see it that way... Citroen choose to start first because they think it's better to start first on the road, and they let Hirvonen (who did best time in the team) chose its position, the 1st..Quote:

If it was his choice, Hirvonen would have gone second and let Loeb go first.Quote:

Ford and Citroen choose opposite running order strategy for opening stages of Rally Portugal - WRC news - AUTOSPORT.com
I think 4-5th place is the best choice. And Fords usually choose the wrong strategy.
btw, theres another pic of Nobre, for all his devoted fans here :D

Thanks, now I found it at page 11, one Mirek comment. Just missed it.Quote:

Otherwise organizers will start to feel pressure on that "watering of night stages issue":
- Citroen: put only small quantity of water and some time before first one, so little sweeping, and dust to slow the Fords
- Ford: put alot of water to allow little dust when running 17th, and if possible let some water in the stages to delay Citroens
i am very curious how the Portuguese organiser will manage to spread water in 3 different stages(10,2km,14,2km,11,1km) in a gravel which has months to rain.
They have to finish spread the water at least 1 hour before the first pass for safety reasons. This means that they have to start 2-3 hours before.
Also Ford boys with order 16-17th on road means that they will drive the stage about 2 hours after the last truck with water pass the stage.
Nice photo from Shakedown-Thierry Neuville!
