I've been thinking about it. Trying to decide on my one game to attend this year. Should I go up to St. Paul when they are playing Pittsburgh? I'd like to see Sid play. Or go to Chicago, St. Paul or St. Louis when Nashville is in town, since that's my favorite team?Quote:

Mark, my Canadian friend, I just bought season tickets for the Houston Aeros, the AHL is not the NHL, but the games are good enough for me, which means I am know no longer a hockey TV fan, too bad the St. John's Maple Leaf don't play anymore (used to go to San Antonio {which was relatively close to Monterrey, Mexico} to see them play), but I will await nevertheless the Toronto Marlies.Quote:

The Marlies don't matter to people in Toronto, whereas they were the pride and joy of Newfoundland. Anyhow, enjoy the Aero's, who have been a pretty good team for a few years. The Hamilton Bulldogs (just down the road from Toronto and where I lived for 2 years) will also be by and they are a farm team of the Montreal Canadiens. They played the Aeros a few years back in the AHL finals and I was a fan of them more so than the Marlies. The Marlies just are a forgotten team in a city besot with love for the Leafs. The Bulldogs draw better averaging 5 thousand for most games.
I think hockey has always been a hidden gem in sport in the US. I know Americans love tough sports and love speed and excitement and it has always flummoxed me why they cant get more excited about hockey. Outside of a few states, it always seems like it is just a sideshow, much like Arena Football.
agreed I liked them in Newfoundland.. I don't think they will suck as much as last year though with new prospects like Stralman(which a few actualy comepare him as a poor mans Lidstrom!),Tlusty as well as some strength in goal with Clemmenson as well as Pogge getting a year more experiance..
