Why is it that Peter Pan can fly in green tights but if I were to do that I'd get kicked off the airplane?

It's one rule for fictional story-book characters and another for the rest of us :angryfire :

perhaps booking a flight with Robin Hood's Merry Men would be the suitable course of action.

I've always wondered why Superman can turn up wearing his undies outside his trousers and nobody says a thing.

Then again I've seen stranger sights than that around London :\
