fingers crossed, just imagine a evo grN with more top speed than a wrc car,and an inexperienced driver, trying to brake with the road blocked from some 20 people, some of them seating at chairs.....

Östberg stopped ???
Edit: OK, just splits ;)

I don't think there many inexperienced drivers in RMC. And it was worst for the first driver, for others the tracks on field give a very strong hint as to what to do.

VolkswagenRally ?@VolkswagenRally 6 ?????

Indeed, hoppefully it will serve the organizers as experience to not do it again.

Tell that to Delecour's sponsors.
Given that they have been sponsoring him for a few years now, I'm sure they knew the risks.

But seriously - what's about Hirvonen!? I'm getting disappointing, had hoped for much more speed now when he is back in the lovely Fiesta! :angryfire
And with a corner in the braking area, which is usually a recipe for disaster.
Drivers would have recced this finish, maybe layout is wrong, usually 300m from finish to stop.

Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
yes must be much more than 100-150 meters.Boiled brakes some times dont be up to the job at stage ends.

Yes, I agree that the drivers should have a note of this in their pace-notes but anyway, it's a stupid mistake from the organizers anyway. 300m as you say is a natural distance. It is how it is, and this time it went okey but it will be some talking about this.

Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
Meeke in cruise control last 2 stages. This is where i worry about him as when he is driving within himself and not in a battle he can lose concentration and crash like in finland- even Australia when he said he wasnt pushing hard when he rolled. Hope he has another nice steady run through last stage today as he is doing great :smokin:. Goo Meeke!!!!
Only snow tomorrow prevents Ogier winning imo. Bouffier will need to hope for unpredictable weather to win but 2nd would still be amazing result for him. Mikko is embarrassingly bad- whats happened to him?

Ogier should have more snow tyres

Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
I think BT Sport 2 has SS11 live at 5pm UK time.

Yes, I will be so nervous tomorrow! Plz Meeke, take the car to finish!! Then he will have gathering a cup full of confidence for next races and with a podium finish in the first Rally, Y.Matton will be very pleased I think! :D :bounce:
Yea, Hirvonen, wtf!! I was really thinking that he would find back to the speed with the Fiesta but, I will wait until after Sweden to judge him. But this rally is really bad as for his stage times! But have Hirvonen ever been fast here??
Anyway, for now, Im a bit disappointed for him.
Go Meeke!!

Do you think so, I saw day 2 review at that time and thought that was weird as there is stage at that time still

Fairly. There is a programme listed for the same time as the stage, the day review is this evening.
Unfortunately BT seem very poor at updating their entries on the EPG; a couple of days ago no WRC was listed at all!

Okey, on BT1 as before??

Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
You all didn't see final splash from SS9 Live stream?
Tomorrow SS13 Live on BT Sport2 and SS15 live - BT Sport1
-
Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
@asto83- yeah Matton will be very pleased :) especially if both his cars get in the top 4!!
That would be brilliant if bt sport 2 was showing ss11!! :bounce: However at end of ss9 commentator didnt mention it at all - just mentioned about the two stages live instead i think, soo...

Mikko actually won RMC in a Fiesta, albeit in the IRC back in 2010. In the WRC he was second in Monte six year ago, some 2'30" down on Loeb.

I don't see any talent in him so ever.
I think he was doing pretty good driving at this Rally
Well, let's hope I'm wrong. I have nothing against the guy, I just shared my thoughts.
You sure are wrong! Way wrong... maybe you should considerer football instead ;) :)
it's extraordinary how he could keep up with Ogier (in a much better car!) while the french was in a drive "out of this world"... of course that comes with a cost....... as a kubica fan, would I be satisfied if he slowed down a bit and just made it to the finish?!?

Mikko actually won RMC in a Fiesta, albeit in the IRC back in 2010.
But to answer Astro83's question, he wasn't really fast. IIRC he only won one stage and just had a steady drive with good tyre choices (and a different brand of tyre to everyone else)

Re: Rallye Monte Carlo 2014
Ogier seems to have the luck of successful sportsmen - same as Bayern Munich in Soccer.
