Great news for JH. I hope this time we are not disappointed by his performance as the one-off rallies he did this year.
If Sordo considers doing a part-season I think they will choose him (for me, after his performance this year he does not deserve a driver in gravel). He is by far the best and consistent driver for tarmac rounds.
Good picture.Quote:

I hope;)
Really pleased for Juho, even if I think he would be capable of being a good second driver for the whole championship and not just a few gravel events.
I agree with others thoughts that they will aim for Sordo for tarmac and if they can't get him they will give them to Bouffier. I guess Dani is holding out for a deal somewhere for more than just the tarmac rounds though.
I am not a fan of the idea of watering down the second car to three or four drivers, so I hope it is a maximum of two.
I would rather see Sordo get a full season at Ford alongside Hirvonen, he would be a better no.2 for them than Ostberg. Put Ostberg and Novikov in a second Ford team if they are paying.
Really pleased for Juho – lets hope he gets a decent run of events. Doing ‘one off’ events is no good for anybody. A permament team of Thierry & Juho would be good – obviously next year is all in preparation for a full effort in 2015. I’d say Juho’s pace on Tar was as good as Brians, so who knows what will happen. As for Atkinson, I’m not sure what he offers above the others. Unless Hyundai Australia have an influence??
A properly quick and brave driver... lets hope this is the chance Hanninen has been waiting for to make the next step and he is competitive at the top level.
It would be brilliant if he and Neuville can have a great year and we see a real chance of them getting close to the VWs... :facelick:
Atkinson is the only one out of the current crop with a podium at WRC Monte Carlo. Bouff won it as Round 1 of the IRC in 2011.
Nothing against Atko personally, but I hope he doesn't get a drive with Hyundai (except testing) because he's had his chance and although he was quick sometimes, he never showed that he could challenge the front runners consistently.
I tend to agree with that statement. It seems it's not on the cards anyway? Things have gone a bit quiet with him, when did he actually last drive the Hyundai.Quote:

Well, Hänninen was leading RMC three times but it always didn't end so well :) Maybe I don't remember all that well but it was +- like bellow...Quote:

In 2010 Hänninen was leading after SS1 but lost the fight to Hirvonen in first event for Fiesta S2000 mainly on wet stages where Pirelli of Hirvonen performed much better than Michelin. Hirvonen won, Hänninen finished second.
In 2011 Hänninen was leading by over a minute when the epic tyre fail of Petter Solberg and both Škodas came in. Driving two long stages without winter tyres in a strong snowfall cost him over four minutes (Solberg lost five, Kopecký seven over those two stages). Hänninen attacked in the last day but he was missing few seconds to podium in finish. Bouffier won the rally without any SS win...
I think MC 2011 was an 'epic fail' from Skoda. To put both drivers on the wrong tyres was incredible. However, apart from that Hanninen's performance on that event was pretty good.
We haven't seen the best from Juho in the WRC - give him a regular seat, then I'm sure we will. The bloke is a quick driver.
It's a shame that it sounds as if Juho won't do Monte. He has always been quick there as Mirek explained. He even won a stage this year despite very little experience of his car, something which several of the contracted WRC drivers failed to do as far as I remember?
I´m very happy with Hanninen in Hyundai RT, but in Monte 2nd car will drive a local boy BBouffier (correct choice if Hyundai have 2car in Monte)!
Monte Carlo 2011 - never forget.
Totally disagree with the appraisal of Atkinson by others. He is a 'team' driver. Can be relied upon to get points for the team without wrecking the car by not following the game plan. He has proven last year he can bring home the piece of crap Mini for manufacturers points.
And while getting points for Mini also won the Asia Pacific championship. And when at Subaru when Solberg was failing he was told to step on the gas which resulted in podiums.
Must be two Chris Atkinson's in the WRC. The one I remember had more crashes than McRae himself.
Atkinson has nothing to offer as a manufacturer driver anymore... he had his chances. It is good to see him in selected events since he is fast but his name is added in the neverbeens long time ago.
I think chris took his chances to wrc and the results were lets say poor.i think giving juho a chance is absolutely fair.A driver with juho's titles deserves a full championsip engagement and( not some gravel events) in order to show his skills.thierry showed his potentials to his second year in the wrc with an experienced team and a reliable car.I refer this because some people might judje juhos performance in a rigorous way,if the results are not there outright.
@wiki-mirek
seriously how do you remember all these detaills?
Because I was waiting for him on the stages where those disasters happened...Quote:

According to Colin Clark on Twitter, Dani will drive in Monte the 2nd car
IMHO Bouffier is the best 2.nd driver for MC-he also performed very good (2.nd place) in this year Jänner Rally, with mixed conditions.

Don´t think that Bouffier will stay at Hyundai if Sordo comes, not even as a test driver.
Why not? They need second parallel team to test the 2015 car. They can't do all WRC events and in the same time an extensive testing of new machine with just one team of drivers.
Before the signing with Hyundai, i thought that Bouffier get DS3 WRC drive to next year. He deserves a WRC.
I would rather see Bouffier than Sordo on selected rounds with Hyundai... Sordo have had already all the chances he could have :\
Well now with Sordo as second driver I think it´s possible that even Hänninen doesn´t get all gravel rallies, if he doesn´t performs very well at Sweden!

Monte-Carlo 2013
3.Sordo +3.49
5.Bouffier +8.13
both with Citroen
4,5 minutes is too much...
OK, it was lottery, but...
Some points to bear in mind
Sordo is a WRC winner now on tarmac
If Hyundai aren't offering him a full season then he at least had the bargaining chip of 'tarmac includes MC'
So if Dani is now the Hyundai tarmac no 2 it must be fairly certain that his offer from Citroen was worse in terms of no of events.
It also must mean that Citroen are going to have a number of different No2s - Bouffier probably being one of them, which was probably the point of his DS3 entry on WRGB
To be fair 2 minutes of those were spent in a snowbank and it was first ever event with WRC car for Bryan (and only)...Quote:
