Sesks and Igavens in Rally Serras de Fafe with Past-Racing Ford Fiesta Rally2.
Some interesting fights in Portugal: https://www.ewrc-results.com/results...2025/?s=487351
Seems that Sesks is squeezing from the Fiesta very last bit out.

We lost the power steering. The pipe is broken. It seems that we can not continue.
Good ? - powersteering broke before this event or because of this event? 😁 I doubt that private Ford was ready for the speed Martins was pushing - him and Meake were more than a minute away from Sordo already.
Power steering broke before, here is a video of him fighting with the handling https://x.com/pauloar23028946/status...HcOaCowupe1KQg
He was quick while it lasted...

Top ERC drivers praise Martins Sesks' performance in Rally Poland.
Mads Ostberg - "He is one of the absolute best in the world on these roads if not the best. If you put him in the best WRC car against all the other drivers, they would struggle"
Mille Johansson - "He’s super-fast here in Poland and Latvia as well. I don’t know how many drivers that would beat him here this weekend, probably no one, even Kalle Rovanperä in a Rally2 I don’t think he could beat Mārtiṇš this weekend"

From the performance till Greece, how can we define the level of sesks, Maybe he only can favour in Poland and latvia??
He is very difficult to judge cause he has so little experience but I have been more disappointed with him than impressed so far.
Rally Estonia will tell us more.
The raw talent is definitely there.
What will define his future is whether the opportunity to develop naturally will suffice. He needs to be in a space where expectations are low(ered) and seat time is guaranteed. In short, a works contract without the budget worries. A bit like the situation Adrien Fourmaux was in a few years back.
Of course, that is easier said than done. Especially in such an uncertain climate.
The talent is definitely there, but it seems he was put too early into Rally1 machinery. He doesn't have the experience with many of the rallies and 1-2 full seasons with a good Rally2 car would help him become a better driver.
He is much better option than all other Puma drivers right now. If we consider all drivers who ever drive that car, I would put him in that order 1. Tanak 2. Loeb 3. Fourmaux 4. Breen 5. Sesks and then all others (sorry, Munster isn't better, because I think that his ''good'' performances is overshadowed with ''his bad luck''. Many technical problems may come from, how you manage the car). Simply as that, this year they are completely shot away with this driver lineup, as many years before they demote their struggling drivers to become better, but not this time. Look how great Tanak, Evans, and Fourmau become, so maybe they should start doing this again on a year basis.
It's true that Sesks, McErlean & Munster would benefit from more years learning the WRC rallies in a Rally2 car.
But if it meant that M-Sport was out of WRC1 or with just Serderidis would we prefer that ?
At least we have extra Rally1 car entries and a team kept alive until the costs get lowered...
Sesks might turn out to be "just" a specialist of fast gravel rallies, like Gilles Panizzi was for asphalt. But he's still young and deserves a chance, it would probably be better for him to get experience from slow gravel and asphalt with a Rally2.
What you are missing, probably, Sesks and his support team, including driving coaches are very smart people. Martins is very fast driver, but he would not go bananas on unknown roads. Experience. Sardinia was just a 0,5m wrong line...sh... happends. Those who suggest R2 - look how many fast drivers are parked there forever. R2 is not functioning as natural show-case for WRC due to limited places. Look at Solberg, Greensmith, Rosell, Solan,ERC is packed with good drivers. One young and fast driver today must take his opportunities.
It would be quite reckless to expect results from Seska this year. He is a completely "green" beginner without any experience in the WRC calendar (half of the stages are unfamiliar to him with a four-wheel drive car). ERC competitions cannot be compared to the WRC (mileage, recce schedule, length of the day, etc.). You have to let him get used to it a little. It would be good if he drove in Saudi Arabia (it's something completely new for everyone). If only he were given the opportunity for the full 2026 season, then we could start asking for something from him for the second half of the season. But as I mentioned earlier, let's see what will happen in Estonia and Finland.
It's all about money. Sesks, McErlean & Munster have backers hence their opportunity, nothing else. This is a double-edged sword with the challenge of learning while facing expectations.
Others in WRC2 have learned their trade getting experience as well as showing great pace. Theres no doubt that Solberg and Rossel would do well in a Rally1 Car, as Pajari has.
Sesks is good and talant is there. Sardinia and Greece - - - - - probably Sesks has agreed to drive without risks, to try reach the really finish to get expierence. Yes, he still messed up in Sardinia, so he definetly was not pushing at all in Greece. It is quite clear, that Sesks has speed, you can see it in stage second runs, there he easely outperforms other M-Sport drivers even without crazy pushing.
Based on interviews, emotions, and his aproach, I personaly think, that there is already a deal done for him to do a full season at M-Sport in 2026.
There is a low chance for Sesks to be wrc champion at the moment, purely because of his low speed on tarmac, but i am sure Sesks will be WRC regular next couple of years. Because he has everything needed - - speed is there, talent is there, age is good, some finacial backing is there, red bull likes him, everyone likes him, personality is attractive, good caracter for live tv, and he even looks good. There simply does not even exist a better position than the position where Sesks has found himself at the moment.
In case it wasn't known, Josh McErlean has a drive for 2026 funded by the MI Rally Academy.
Let's see if Sesks can get one too.
Maybe, if Martins O'Sesks has an Irish grandparent.
