What a time by Paddon on SS4... in a different class.
BRC only on Facebook is really annoying; I watch loads of motorsport on YouTube, whether IMSA, Fanatec GT, VLN/ NLS, British Hillclimbs, BTCC qualifying, etc But the people who follow rallying in the UK think it's the place to go.....
Still don't know why they can't put it on You Tube.......Special Stage have their coverage on both.
I'm usually rooting for the underdogs - Franceschi, Tempestini or whoever happens to be the one fighting with Paddon but I hope Hayden takes this one. Going to miss him next year...
'Here's a big jump coming up here now'...
*cuts to car stationary on startline*
These stages look really tricky; narrow, dirty, compressions. Looks fun though!
An excellent first loop by Chris Ingram to be 2nd overall and leading the BRC contenders. This is especially so as it's his first tarmac event in the Yaris.
Nice to see his MEM teammate Meirion Evans put in a great time on the last stage. His experience on similar roads on the Irish Championships must be helping.
From the distance, by the stage times looks like, here, knowledge of the field, through previous participations, is essential to be in the top, either due to pure driving tactics or due to chassis set-up, including tyre choice. What do you think?
Seems nominal times given for Evans, Pryce and Devine on SS4 were very generous.
Even better time from Paddon in the 2nd pass through Brechfa stage...... improving his awesome first pass.
'Seriously fast' says Paddon after SS7... no kidding, the onboard is amazing.
mcrae behind the two swedish fellas in his class, not good for the jr title race
mate some of the national cars are so beautiful. love the escorts and those weird cars, guess they are doing the asphalt league only? nice.
All those miles of moorland with world class viewing and people gather where they can see the roof of a car through a hairpin for 5 seconds because there's a burger van. I dunno about this.
Anyway, who's on Comms with Becs?
the winner of this event is this guys: https://www.darrian.co.uk/
what an awesome car haha jeez
Paddon is walking the ERC here.
But its game on in the BRC with Cronin taking Ingram's lead down to 15s for the Round 5 victory.
I don't think Paddon will win the ERC championship without going to Silesia, but he's certainly in a very good position.

7 out of 7 stages won? What a knock out performance from Hayden Paddon! Franceschi has no chance...
Damn shame for Tempestini
do you fellas think ingram is "Rally1" material? i like his character A LOT and his erc title was my favorite rally season ever, but i always see people pointing that hes not that good of a driver. with just a few rally wins in those situations "well, he was the only R5 car on that event". thoughts?
I've been a big supporter of Ingram for many years (including crowdfunding twice) and also have his 2019 ERC win as my favourite rally moment.
For me his personality was a big factor as well as being a proud Englishman. The problem has always been finances. Despite many attempts at WRC2 Championships the money has never been enough to complete or to allow sufficient testing. His speed was always limited by the fact that any crash would end his season or even his career. He therefore drove within himself and didnt crash for 4 years !
Now he seems to have enough backing at least for a full BRC season and is taking the opportunity well so far.
Amazing performance by Paddon today, he fully deserves this championship not only for this but because he is performing way is excess of what that car is normally capable of.
Good fightback by Franceschi on the final proper stage of the day, not unfeasible he could reach second by the end of the rally.
good win for Ingram in the BRC! Creigthon finished way behind, right? good points!
,,i20 rally2 is crap and that guy is old...''
Paddon: ,,hold my beer..''
Having 9 out of 10 stages in his pocket after Saturday..
Paddon was development testing the i20 Rally2 in Spain quite recently. I dont think the car is a bad as some think and certainly not on this rally evidence.
Bit of a schooling for the locals on this event! Behind Paddon, entertaining position battles and all impressively close though.
Drove back over the Hafod stage today and that looks like it could be a fun one, very different characters from today's stages with sections of bigger, wider roads.
Especially as the only car to beat him on a stage was the other Hyundai...
I suspect it's a commercial thing for Hyundai though, they don't see it as a big enough revenue generator for the effort/cost. Sad days though, C3s and Polos are already rare, soon may just be Skodas, Toyotas and Fords. Hopefully Stellantis keeps their hand in the Rally2 market a bit longer.
Gutted for Ingram, that was a strange crash.
More drama with Cronin also out on the last stage and now Allen off too !

Gotta say, been catching it on & off this weekend, first of all, beautiful Wales! Absolutely stunning, just the greenery is a joy to look at. The stages themselves seem quite nice & tricky…really hope it’ll be in the WRC until 2027.
Regarding Paddon, shame, real shame, one of those drivers that I think, what could’ve been…great driver, great to watch, nice character.. real shame we don’t see him driving in Rally1 Machinery.
