Fastest time on the shakedown first pass last year was 2:57.6. Currently the fastest time is 3:00.0
By the looks of it Craig was fastest in our plac
E: time is shit though
The Toyotas seem so good
Will be difficult
Well for me it was sure already before the rally that it will be Kalle vs Ott but it seems Lappi will be also maybe joining them
We will see. Will be interesting one with the weather and some Estonian experts saying that some of the new parts are tricky as hell and whoever has confidence there can make up big time
Toyota really strong. If it´s raining tomorrow Kalle will win again!
Rumors of Katsuta rolled
When was the last time, that WRC crews did so many runs on SD..? :O
Almost everybody 4, Lappi and Neuville 5 runs..
Maybe it's been discussed before or elsewhere, but this engine development by Toyota and also Hyundai which each has announced here - wasn't the development of the 1.6 WRC engines supposed to be frozen at the end of 2021 ?
Millener went off at "PET" :)

There are still some (small) changes allowed.
Hola partner,,Kalle sera sin contratiempos otra vez ganador y Lappi sin contratiempos sera 3º-4º y l 2º- 3º sera tambien sin contratiempos Ott - Neuville..saludos..
Clearly enough to mention by Tom Fowler (Toyota)...
"We have put a performance package together ready for Estonia, which consists of a mid-season engine upgrade as normal. This is what we’ve done [in time for the mid-season fast rallies] for the last six years.”
What does a mid-season upgrade consist of these days?
“I think broadly speaking it’s power,” Fowler explains. “Every year we say we’ve gone torque, power, torque, power, torque, power. For the moment we’ve been looking for more power for the simple reason that the electric motor has got torque, so why would you put more of that at this point?
“So yeah, a more powerful engine is coming.”
AFAIK only spark plug, piston, intake and exhaust manifold can be modified.
Add 0.5hp to the previous engine spec and you have a more powerful engine. Marketing is part of the business.
And I think they can do lots with the software
SS1 Visit Estonia Tartu 1 [1.66 km] Team principals with GAZ rally truck.
Latvala (Team Toyota) 02:06,2
Millener (Team Ford) 02:09,3 (+3,1)
Maciej Woda (FIA Junior WRC Championship Manager) 02:12,9 (+6,7)
Moncet (Team Hyundai) 02:20,8 (+14,6)
Software along with friction losses can amount to as much as 10 more hp.
If they go away from the traditional engine build philosophy you can free up many more HP, where as the usual brief is to have as much torque as possible for drivability. So if you go to add power there are many things within the parameters that you can change to achieve this.
Superb air shots of Tartu!
I just read that the engine development 'freeze' was actually a freeze of the regulations, not of development of an engine itself within those regulations.
Tänak already with stuck gear …..
Besttime for Breen, that is a surprise
Stage win for Breen should keep his confidence high for a rally they have done well on.
I can't see anyone besides Kalle winning this rally. I'd put Tanak in the fight, but he drives the "amazing quality" car...
Looks like more of a drier weekend coming now. Some showers in the afternoon from friday-sunday Are possible

Good morning guys. Arrived to the spot. Nice sunshine at the moment and didn’t rain during night
The place we are it’s rather dry I would say
Ss2
Tere hommikust! Enjoy your rally on the stages!
Neuville lost 3.8s to Kalle on first split. Tänak is going better.
Katsuta losing a lot, probably just due to the shakedown crash messing with him
Breen down 4.2s on second split.
Tänak going for a great time
Early escape for Rovanperä
Kalle Rovanperä at SS2 stage end: "We were lucky, we hit a rock quite hard." There is evident damage on his right rear wheel.
No stage end interviews this morning? Too early for our wrc+ crews?
Greensmith losing already 5.7 on first split. And 13.1 on second. Basically 1 s/km
