just a shakedown but Rovanpera is showing really good times at the moment
and now everybody went to service
What Ogier said? I missed his interview
Ogier now on third run 0.5 faster than Tänaks second run
Evans equals with Ogier's time
i dont know if there is stoppage or something but no one going onto to the stage at the moment.
but nobody besides me isnt interested here in the shakedown anyway, lol
Evans, Tänak, Sordo, Rovenperä seems to wait something... Lappi is joining them now.
okay things are moving now, Suninen on the startline
Earlier on Julian Porter made a good point about the Shakedown's... they often set the tone for a driver's weekend.
And they often dont`t...
Tänak had a technical failure on last year's Mexico shakedown but the rally itself went without problems.
Meeke was often fastest on the shakedown but out of pace or off road in the rally itself.
Remember that drivers use the shakedown for different purposes. Others try to go as fast as possible, some try different settings, others just warm up their muscles and bolts.
Tanak really should be winning this event, mechanical issues aside.
Guys excuse my oblivious question, I am sure you must have clarified this in the past, but seeing Ken Block in a Ford Escort Cosworth and reading competitors can enter in non-homologated cars, can you please provide a pointer to the exact FIA rule allowing this?
There isn't a rule per se allowing this. It is instead covered in the event supplementary regulations. You can see them on the event website. There was a bulletin issued stating that the Escort RS Cosworth 94 is eligible for entry in the NACAM championship which runs alongside the WRC event.
Much appreciated OHL.

Long time since that has happened last time...
This is not completely correct info. There is a rule about it in WRC regulations:
12.3 NATIONAL/REGIONAL CARS
12.3.1 Cars homologated or approved by the ASN of the organising
country will be permitted to take part in WRC events if
stipulated in the supplementary regulations, without eligibility
to score Championship points.
12.3.2 These cars must, however, comply with the safety requirements
as stipulated in Appendix J, Art. 253 and with all other
applicable provisions and procedures stipulated in the present
Regulations (e.g. tyres, barcodes, fuel, restart regulations etc.).
12.3.3 Prior to the rally, the organiser will propose to the FIA a list of
cars for approval.
12.3.4 Drivers entered in the national class shall always use a different
entry form.
For me it is quite strange that FIA made this special rule for WRC. So in fact, in highest category you can start with any bastard, which doesnt have any valid homologation (I am sure that this car of Block doesnt have at least national homologation), but on other FIA races it is not allowed. Especially with the bad politics of FIA with homologations, when we have not so many new car homologated and lot of countries is making national homologations of some cars, it is another rule which is out of logic...
