Thanks for the link! It was interesting to hear Ingram commenting his own driving - "I need to stop having so much fun on those stages and start thinking about what is fast" ;)

LOL :) Russian driver Artur Muradian, who is driving an R5 car for the first time, says that it is like flying a Mig-29 :)

Thank you ;-)
Ingram with a good time on the final stage of the day.

Incredible day for the kid. I think a star is born ! :hot:

AND he lost some time here !

This is a embarrassing for guys like Ingram or Griebel. I know that Solberg knows the roads in Latvia really well plus he is testing a lot. But some who wants to step up to WRC one day shouldn't be so far behind.
I think Solberg is pretty special though, if he can even also do this to Lukyanuk. And I mean, just look at him !

This is about the first time I am really impressed by young Solberg. He certainly trives much more in R5 or Impreza than the R2.
Yep it's being first gravel rally with R5 for him, but Oliver win two first snow Latvian rally. So it's no something new in Liepaja.
Yokohama rubber seems to work fine for Arai on the first day.
Maybe more people should give them a go.
Yes, it is Sesks' debut in an R5 car. Rally Liepaja is the first of two prize drives for winning the Junior ERC3 last year:

Rally Liepaja will be broadcasted live on Facebook on Sunday:
- SS7 at 8:30 AM CET
- SS13 at 16:45 CET
Hello. Arai no novice so I'm a little unsure of what you mean when you say "Yokohama rubber seems to work fine for Arai on the first day.
Maybe more people should give them a go". He are already 50 seconds behind the best after 5 stages. I'm sorry if I have mixed up in something that has to do with business.
Sensational Solberg shows Lukyanuk the way on ERC Rally Liepāja https://t.co/cUHVgGVs14

17-year-old kid is shaking, cannot believe it, doesn’t know what to say and is almost crying after beating his own hero:

Remember - the "M" on a rear window means an inexperienced driver who is still learning how to drive a car :D

Despite such good pace for Oliver - third round of Latvian Championship (actually Talsi rally) win a Gross on Fiesta WRC17 by 4.1sec!

What a mess with leg2 starting list...
The organisers put Arai to start 6th despite he finished 8th in the leg and he should have been 3th in starting list.
http://2019.lvrally.com/upload/files..._list_leg2.pdf
Of course that is unfair for Alex Tsouloftas, Mares and Habaj who should have a better starting position.
The regulations are clear:
45.4.1 In ERC and ERT, the start order for subsequent Legs shall be based on the classification at the
finish of the final special stage of the previous Leg excluding any super special stage if run at the end of the
Leg.
45.4.2 The first 10 cars in the overall classification will re-start as a merged group in reverse order
according to their classification in Art. 45.4.1. (ERC only)
Good to see ERC YT channel showing some pure sound videos like: https://youtu.be/w2rOzJdQ1-I
Nice footage. Also qualy stage (posted rather late): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EPb89UGCVYs
Solberg looking good for the win now - Luky says he's under big pressure from the team not to push.
Didn't take long to get the "next world champion" comments. (On twitter, not here)
Every time a young driver does something good he is already a world champion Rovanpera, Suninen, Lappi etc. etc. While I certainly admire good results I just hate this kind of talk.
Pat them on the back and encourage them to keep working hard. There is a long road to actually winning the championship. Imo this talk of how great they are is more often than not counter-productive. I dare say Lappi from 2017 to now is a good example. Pissed off unless he is winning stages instead of focusing on steady progress.
Much better road position today for @E_Brynildsen... and a much better time ! 4th quickest through ! https://t.co/bU8An6d14w
Now Žala sets a 2nd fastest time showing the benefit of a cleaner road.
Brynhildsen is a good example of what the level has been in any toplevel rallying series, 3 months since last time in the car, 1 day testing, then he use first day to find out of settings and pace, when the others are on the pace from start.
Some years ago some drivers could jump in and do decent results, those days are over.

Eurosport comms is getting no better, calling Solberg a Swede and his car a Golf GTI...
Well, he is half swedish actually, his mother is Pernilla, born walfridson. Petter and Pernilla has a house at the boarder between Norway and sweden, one of the stages at rally sweden is really close to this place, oliver was at the school in Torsby to.
So the golf was the most wrong part:)

You were checking old regulations.
Since last year it is: 45.4 START ORDER FOR SUBSEQUENT LEGS The start order for subsequent Legs shall be based on the classification according to stage times at the finish of the final special stage of the previous Leg excluding any time penalties and any super special stage if run at the end of the Leg.
