Rally stages and access roads are two different things
As it is not known what it is - it is always the same $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Polish organizers of their shortcomings and underdevelopment always dropped on the fans, roads are blocked due to their safety and insecurity from previous years. In addition, the organizer claims that spectators' viewing punts are designated at the most attractive venues - and as you well know it is not - because they are set only for easy access.
In addition, these blocks are designed to prevent fans from camping at rally stages which for many are an unmatched element of every rally.
Year after year, foreign fans are getting less and less frequent but this year's trend will be even more visible - anyway, just look at this forum and this topic to see that Rally Poland does not arouse some great interest among fans from other countries
The last thing is that it is increasingly said that Rally Poland will be the last time in the WRC so the organizers will get away from the fans as much money.
In every country in the world Rally WRC is a holiday for the fans, unfortunately in Poland is not - this rally is simply sad.
Unfortunately, the conversation has been going on for a few years now, and the unstable is not changing, the unstable is changing only for the worse
If anyone wants to read more what Polish fans think about this rally then I invite you to forum - In the themes of the previous edition of the rally only the same texts repeat

What the hell are you talking about. Half of Estonia will be in Poland from Thursday onwards. Your rally organizing is supreme if we count rally maps, access roads and "free" parking in fields. I have at least 11 stages in my schedule i can see easily and stage hopping is relatively easy. Tickets are cheap, hotels are really cheap. Food is cheap. Beer is cheap. Best place to have rally imo. Only polish spectators are one of the worst. You need SWAT teams to get them away from dangerous places and it's miracle if stage is not stopped because of spectators.
11 stages? Can I follow you?
Polish fans are the worst? It is interesting because I see here also the Estonian flag

If the organizer has taken care of his duties in securing the episodes, he would not have problems with fans - somehow in other countries my compatriots have no problem
Cheap ?? Are we talking about the cost or organization of this rally??
Please also explain why most blockades can be overcome by buying a VIP rally pass which is four times more expensive than a normal rally pass?? I always thought that the VIP at the party is staying, not that you can buy it.
Can you give me the name of the second so locked up for rally fans in WRC ??
Free parking on the ground ?? 2km before the blockade, you will have a forbidden entry sign under the threat of towing the car.
This is maps of SS Paprotki which will be Power Stages - on 18,68km - For the fans there are 5 places to watch and one car - explain why I have blocked the roads which I marked in blue (there are wide roads where you can pass the trucks) - Do you think this is the highest level organization ??

I have been on this rally since 2005, I know every year, I know how this rally looked like and I see how this rally looks now and I'm just sad.
My tickets cost me 300€ This is for one VIP and 3 silver tickets this includes VIP parking ticket. So divided to company of four people 75€ per face. This includes everything. In Findland i have to pay 55-110€ extra for parking in 11 stages and regular ticket is same price. So it looks cheap to me. And last year i had regular tickets in Rally Poland and walking wasn't that bad. Finland is way worse.
And those blue roads are emergency evacuation roads in Rally Guide 2 thats why they are blocked.
Suninen aims for top 6

Would be realistic in Finland and what he needs to do to have a drive next year.
The actual quote is
So he actually admits it would be a great result to be in the top six and it would require no problems on the way. So it's not like he's saying he's gonna be in the top six.Quote:
I would say finishing in the top six would be great, without any mistakes or without any problems
You just confirmed what I wrote earlier - not to walk this year you bought a more expensive VIP ticket (599pln - 4dni) to drive under special stages - what interesting in 2011 episodes were not so blocked and the possibility to drive under special stages was 50pln (in three days)
Okay, two of these roads are actually emergency evacuation roads - just why can one of the VIP Pass fans in?? I also understand that if the number of VIP Pass fans decide to use this route, then also will not be a problem??
I will repeat only what the fans say in Poland - the problem is not money because 149 pln is a very good price, only that the episodes are blocked and inaccessible for fans
Everyone knows that this rally can be great, by just why from one year to another he comes to him fewer and fewer fans ??
Still no pickems for Poland?
Don't want to stress mintex etc, but I am forgetful.
I wonder how Neuville's Ypres crash affects his confidence. That must remind him of Monte and Sweden failures.
IMO it wont affect him at all, totally different rally

I expect the Toyotas to really fight for the victory here. As seen in Sweden, fast roads make the Yaris the car to beat.

Better to have a crash in Ypres than in Poland...
Yaris should be fast but the question is if Latvala has gotten over Poland 2009? Last three rallies here it doesn't seem like he has. For a rally that should suit him perfectly he really hasn't lived up to the expectations.
A chick like Maisa could do wonders for your confidence, but can just as easily frustrate the sh!t out of your soul. Let's hope it's not the latter :)
Congrats to Latvala though. Hope the Toyota gang do well in Poland.
Never been a fan of Latvala, specially in the later VW years. Constant issues with confidence/setup/car and constant excuses by his fans (blaming the team for favoring Ogier)...++.
But have to say I am very impressed by him this year.
Within a month with him at the team the Toyota tarmac vids showed a massive improvement. Driving rallies he's both reasonably fast and keeping it on the road without issues when he cant charge for wins. (One crash in 7 rallies is totally normal)
That said since this is Rally Poland thread I don't see him as the main favorite for win, that's Tanak due to his last year performance, recent performance in Sardinia and road position. But Latvala is probably about equal favorite with Neuville to round up the top 3. Ogier will likely loose too much with road position.
Paddon is the joker here but those two off might dent his confidence.
Mikkelsen, Breen and Lappi are candidates for top 5 and some fast times here and there but don't expect sustained top 3 performance. Especially if it rains at some point.
Tänak will definitely be strong in this event, but maybe it`s too much to expect the same kind of performance this year. He admitted himself that last year he had some better aces (DMack+ road position in addition to his favourite kind of roads ) and wanted to take his first victory very badly and still all this meant taking big risks, hence the emotional finish. As he said it himself, podium would be nice in this tough competition...ofcourse me, other fans and probaly himself secretly want a win.
Just checked and it is scheduled to rain on Friday & Sunday....will be very interesting to say the least...
If anybody is going to Poland and still looking for accommodation next to the Rally please contact me. My Polish colleague is willing to rent a residence (one group - max 10 WRC fans )
WRC+ shows five live stages: friday's last super special, saturday's first (both runs) and power stage (both runs). Nice!
It would be interesting to see a wet rally. There hasn't been one this season.
@SebOgier re arranging for rain:
I wish I could do that sometimes but only nature decides.
5 days to go let's wait and see but for sure I'll do the rain dance the whole week.
My forecasts are giving more or less rain for all weekend
