Is it possible to have split times on Wrc+?
I just couldn't find them...
for some reason it won't show me the magazine preview of Rally Australia and instead there is Rally Argentina.
Not sure, if anybody has already mentioned it here: wrc+ now has all the hightlights shows and even live stages from all rallies of the season, thus all the way back to Monte Carlo (with SS13 as live stage)
Now just the previous season untill 1973 and we can be totally happy :D
Anyone else having troubles logging on?
I'm having problems to access any video (highlights, live stages or onboards) on a web browser on my desktop. It keeps asking to log in again and again.
Only on the Android app I'm able to see those right now.
I just subscribed to wrcplus.i did it because i want to see some onboard.SURPRISE the videos cant be loaded!bullshit product.
The onboards, work only on <comparison mode>,not on <single driver mode>.when you pay you demand a high quality product.this is a beta product, shame on them.
I have just sent them an email about the onboard camera position. I find the onboards to be less and less interesting with the current position.
I've got a response, nothing special:
Thanks for your request and your interest in WRC+.
We are very much interested in steadily improving our product. However, the suggested feature is not planned yet. We will forward your suggestion to the responsible persons and discuss your suggestion internally.
Best regards,
your WRC+ Team
+100000 eight gear and NOT
yes the cam position sucks, luckily there is erc where they know the job.
A guy in Filmworks told me they can't put them between or on the seat ear flap because of safety reasons given by the FIA...
When did you last hear of someone getting injured by a gopro inside a car...?
About the seat ear flap position. Even if GoPro is too large, then there are several cylinder type camera. Heck, Panasonic even came out with a 4K action camera (HX-A500), where the lens/sensor and the processing unit are connected by a cable. Nothing really would be in the way.
well... there are many positions apart from the seat where a camera can give proper onboard footage... and when you can produce a car that can go through a forest road at 120 mph i am sure the guys at the FIA or Red Bull can create a mount for a camera that can be both safe and fit anywhere...
But when you have autistic imbeciles and overweight midgets running the sport you cannot expect much.. can you ?
Does someone know why the roof top cameras have also disappeared over the years?
Anything else other than centrally placed camera behind the crew is almost useless and does not give a good perceptive, especially those roof-top cameras.
The roof-top camera at 4:32 of the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ccr9Mze-Fw is quite nice...
About WRC+. Have to say that my first thoughts about the thing were proved wrong a bit, but when looking back it's more to do with the comfort - no need to search for streams, onboards and reviews quickly available, etc. But as quite a few have said, the whole thing still feels incomplete or shouldn't be a subscription feature.
I think majority of the onboards should be on the free site (with a better video directory than the thing they have at the moment). I personally hate the free site video section because of bad directory and the non stop WRC+ 30 second (think it was 30) ad running before every bloody video. Also the inability to share links to direct videos is idiotic.
Live tracking is cool but the feature is too simplistic at the moment. You need to have open several tabs to get all the info you could wish for. Why aren't the splits integrated to the tracking section? Another cool thing would be a small live stream window on the tracking page, could be the ultimate rally page. Also the list of tracked crews should increase.
Also they should have not sold the internet showing rights to countries, if they wanted to come out with the live stream feature.
At the moment WRC+ is all about comfort, nothing really premium is there.
But to be completely honest, they should had fixed the main site before jumping into subscription site. I don't understand how they haven't got the main site structured and working normally over all the years.
Compare between the two
Onboard ideal position (but we will never see it again IMO): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sAbQ5wRr0o
Roof camera (at least most of it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKdKH1mhfX8
I hope you dont really prefer the second one...
Not a fan of that one, but I'm fine with the ones in front of the windscreen to be honest.
Admittedly, I'm a fairly new (re-)convert to rallying, my usual haunt is endurance racing, so I struggle to see what's wrong with the WRC+ product. Sure, it's new and still needs some usability tweaks and bugs ironing out (or so I read, I can't access it being in the UK) but I compare it to the ACO's pathetic equivalent that they rolled out (with much more fanfare the WRC have done) for WEC.
At a similar price structure, there is no archive or on demand ability, no choice of who to follow or what to watch, you literally just receive the TV feed. Plus, you need one subscription per device, should you wish to watch on your screen and follow timing on your phone or tablet.
These are two products which are at similar stages in their life cycle and, to me, the WRC offering seems miles ahead. Admittedly, I think both should be free, as the number of eyeballs the 'product' would be seen by would increase manyfold, for what is only a small token amount for the promoters, but they seem determined to restrict the services as much as possible instead, sadly...
Because they say the between seats camera is safety concern, then it's more of a question windscreen vs rooftop, which isn't a safety concern (unless you rule out a possible camera loss in case of a heavy crash).
A better sample of roof camera - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8p_AiDh7FQ
But I guess all this camera stuff is heavily off topic.
Onboards of the Czech promoter are really nice for me.
there are dozens of camera angles that can produce great footage... the fact that they use those generic "russian dash cams" lookalike postions for the WRC just shows the guys are either totally incompetent and useless at their jobs or they have orders from the top not to promote the sport as they should...
You guys probably won't believe me, but on Meeke's car the camera is placed behind the driver!
