REAL SOUNDS: the new engine allows a different management of in game sounds and effects.
All the cars have been live recorded also with on board microphones to catch all the real effects heard by the drivers.
For each country (EFIGS) a professional actor have been appointed to perform peace notes given by a real co-driver
to guarantee a real on board environment to the player!

And cos I'm bored, here's my season 4 report on WRC 2 :D
Driver: Matty :P
1.SWEDEN - Improved with 2 top 10 times + SSS Win to come 8th (+33.59sec), just +0.72sec off Block (fancy seeing him up there in Sweden).
2.MEXICO - Another 8th, just 2sec off P.Solberg (+51.79sec) - 3 top 10 times and 3 11ths.
3.PORTUGAL - Having finished 14sec off in 4th last time, secretly hoping to win! After 4 stages am leading by 3sec (last time I was +10sec down) - who knows how it will turn out? We will never know cos I crunched into a wall in the second half of SS5 and spent the rest of the rally crawling round, tumbling down the order. The SSS was downright depressing...
In the end I was fortunate to take 7th overall. The top 3 separated by +8.61 sec - I would have been RIGHT in there! I KNEW before this rally I needed to have something to eat - and go to sleep too!
4.JORDAN - Another write off, crashed on SS1 - the only consolation was promising top 10 pace. Feeling fed up as this season isn't looking so good, so taking a break...

5.ITALY - Hoping for my first points in Italy - 8th would be great! 4 top 10 times out of 6 stages, including a WIN in SS3 :D Result = 7th overall! 0.06 ahead of Raikkonen - but that makes up for Sweden and Mexico.
6.ARGENTINA - 5 stage wins. Win by 50sec for 2nd victory. Full power stage points too.
7.GREECE - Aiming to match 7th from last time, but hoping for 6th. Starting with a 3rd and a win puts me 2nd overall, which I surprisingly keep hold of throughout! A very unexpected and welcome result.
8.FINLAND - Now it's late at night (like past midnight!), so I decide to do one more rally, knowing I wouldn't get points here. Aiming for 14th, hoping for 13th, expecting 15th. SS1 went well with 11th. But I managed to cut most of the mistakes out and get a decent flow to score 6th 7th 9th 7th 8th to come 7th overall! (+30sec)
9.GERMANY - Seeing how I SupeRallied last time, I was very conservative this time round and running outside the top 10 early on. Realising I needed to pick up the pace I finished with 3rd 6th 4th and 1st to climb to 7th (and notice I seem to be finishing 7th quite a lot...)
10.AUSTRALIA - Aiming for top 4 minimum (even a WIN), but reality sets in as I DON'T win all the stages. A silly fast crash on SS1 stopped me taking first 3 in a row though. Just over a second off Meeke going into final stage, I basically settled for 2nd as I find SS6 harder. I AGAIN blew it in the final "3 left" corner of the rally, spinning into the trees. Meeke had a bad run too and was only a 1sec quicker. I lost by +2.34... 2nd still welcome.
11.FRANCE - Having been buoyed to find out that Marcos Ligato had finally scored a richly deserved (and long overdue) WIN in the PWRC in New Zealand AND that Michael Schumacher got his first podium since his comeback (!), I was feeling good going into France. My first ever top 10 stage time was a great start. I followed that with 14th 14th 12th 11th, then a best ever 7th, to finish 11th less than 2sec off Latvala. Easily my best result, and I had lost time with some crashes. I could have come in the top 4 in a couple of stages!
SPAIN and BRITAIN to follow... :d

OT slightly, did anyone catch the WRC highlights from New Zealand? Paddon was driving RBR, could recognise that rev counter anywhere, despite the efforts of the cameraman to cover it! :P

What's best guys? WRC games AND any other rally games.. Also want Forza though... ...
I think you will enjoy WRC2 for the official WRC2011 calendar and
DiRT3 for the great graphics and huge variety of rally cars!
p.s. XBox would be a wise choice :p
Oh I wanna play the old Evolution Studios Games again! But I don't have them anymore since my PS2 and all games and dvds were nicked in 2007. :( I could spend all night writing my thoughts about those games, but I think I've said plenty on this thread for now. :DQuote:

Oh it would be so good if we could give more feedback to the developers. Do you think they might read this?
I think the biggest change I want in the next game is for the computer cars to have problems and (more!) retirements, like RBR and the evolution studios PS2 games did (from their WRC3 onwards). The way it is is too much like Colin Mcrae Rally, JUST a sprint and no more.
That was the BIGGEST problem stopping CMR being a perfect game for me...
p.s. Still haven't finished my 4th season with Matty on WRC2 yet. 2 rallies left but currently sitting in 5th in the championship (1xwin 2x2nd 4x7th 2x8th 1x11th 1x18th). Happy I'm improving, but I've done absolutely nothing with the setup cos I admit I'm not very good at it. WRC2 is possibly the hardest game of all; harder than RBR I think - I mean I can win every rally on RBR fairly substantially.

Let's hope they include the possibility to use the clutch and H-shifting on the G25/27 for WRC 3! It's boring having to drive group B and A cars with sequential or paddleshift gearing.

Really hope they have real car sounds on here. This is where DiRT3 kicks other games asses, they actually go to the effort of recording the rally cars they're using in the game and it just make it sooooo much better.
It Is said that, thanks to the new engine, the sounds and pacenotes have been dramatically Improved. We will see (...or better hear!)
I hope so. Hopefully they release a demo for this so we can see before buying!
I think blackbean have been over thinking the whole car sound thing. Apparently the weird sound you hear in WRC 1 & 2 is actually their interpretation of what the cars sound like from inside the cockpit while doing an event.

Also the article reports, cars get damages, when driving off road! That will give an end to cheating I guess :)

The graphics are better than the previous WRC games
