Hmmm...very hard to beat that game.
IMO WRC4 (PS2) Is the most complete game of the series. Evolution studios were very much ahead oh their times.
I wish they were still around In rally gaming.

Here's the 2011 teaser.
I was expecting something more Impressive or creative to be honest.

That was a hell of a game. What made Evolution's games so good were the stages themselves. If Black Bean can get stages close to the ones they delivered in WRC4 then I think we will have an excellent game on our hands.Quote:

Old news ;)
he he I know. Just never posted In this thread! :p
Lcd, translation please :D
Okay, In a few words:
1. Improvements and additions have been made, compared to the 2010 title.
2. New graphics engine for more detailed graphics and Impressive presentation.
3. More accurate locations/enviroment/cars models/visual and mechanical damage.
4. The handling of WRC2 this time Is moving towards simulation (!)
5. Dennis Kuipers has been Involved with the cars physics and behaviour.
6. Petter Solberg said WRC2 Is a realistic game and claimed that real rally drivers could really find It usefull (!)
Pretty encouraging report. As I have mentioned before, let's hope my Greek fellows didn't get too much enthousiastic!
Just a few comments. I'll reserve judgement until it's out, although what I do know is that I've probably spend 4 times as much of my time playing DiRT3 as I have WRC. That's not because I feel it's a better game per se, just that the cars, the graphics and the noise are better and somehow DiRT seems more fun.Quote:

Very nice Benniz! :)
Don't like that comment though :(
“A realistic game can’t be too frustrating, too hard to play; it can’t be too close to simulation,”
It MUST be hard to play! There are other games In the market for fun.
And from that screenshot, It's obvious that stage was In the first game.
I hope Milestone won't use the same stages enriched with some new graphics...
Considering their ignorance throughout last years production, I wouldnīt be surprised if they did, LCD ;)
I think unrealistic games are harder to drive because the cars don't behave they way i assume them to do...

No shocking news...Emphasis on the graphics Issue, same handling with the 2010 title and weather system.
Itīs good to see proper ride height of the car, not like in WRC2010. But anyway, the car without suspension looks very funny : http://www.virtualr.net/wp-content/g...6084941554.jpg

The 3D of the car looks terrible.. :\ + same physics = no thanks!
hmmm, that Swedish stage, is Identical with the ones In the previous title.
And as far I can tell, don't see any spectacular graphics Improvements. :p
Gameplay...

Great find mAxL.
But based on Alan's words 1) '...stages are the original from the first title, done with special graphics details and some new sections...' :(
2) based on the following screenshot, you can easily see, we are not getting unique stages but the re-used common parts like In WRC10 and the final 2 DiRTs

That car looks like its barely touching the ground in that video!
The stages are still too wide, and the German (or Rallye Deutschland) stage didn't look anything like a stage from that event. I fear another 'less than quality' title. Seems as though the original Evolution studios games are still better.
A possible first look of the menu/presentation of WRC2?

I agree Andy.
There are some crucial Issues (except the graphics) don't know anything about yet...
Found a special going at my local shop on Tuesday to get WRC 2010 and SBK 2011 for the price of 1 game. I must admit I don't see what the big negative is about WRC 2010, it's actually quite good. Yes, the physics aren't RBR but it's not the worst. When I consider that I thought WRC 3 had too much oversteer and WRC 4 had too much understeer, this one is just right, the stages look very interesting, are good length, the AI is hard to beat, graphically it looks great with nice details to the stages, and the co-driver isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I was really surprised with how good it was, so I'd recommend it for those that want to try it before getting WRC 2011. And if the way the SBK games have been improved is anything to go by then the WRC range will only get better.
News come from France!
WRC 2 se montre | Extrem Games
Looks like there will be more stuff during Rally Finland 29-31 July!
Well that's a definite NO!! I'm not going to spend another Ģ40 for a game that has the same stages as one that I was already tired of. Ridiculous decision that will, IMO, kill the franchise in its infancy.
The co-driver still fooking shouts and tbh, the game looks no better than before!
Exact same stages as before. I am a huge rally fan, but Im sorry, I wont be buying this again, looks like the exact same game with some different cars. If they want to keep this franchise alive give the license to another developer.
Well, the engine sounds more aggressive than last year-that's for sure.
As expected, last years stages will be used again graphically refreshed,
but we will have the new superspecial stages and the new countries of the 2011 calendar:
Sardegna-Italy, Argentina, Greece and Australia.
I don't think It will be that bad. ;)
Thanks all for the updates/comments.
So what is supposed to be a brand new game (and will cost the same as a brand new game) has some new sounds, maybe some graphics touches in some places and 4 new superspecials. How the hell can you think that's acceptable? It's nothing short of disgusting to push this onto fans.Quote:

You're right up to a point, more of the half game will be the same like 2010 title.
But If the general look/feeling/gameplay/sound Is Improved I think It will be OK.
Those didn't buy the previous one, will probably have no problem with this. :p
I am not waiting for the game gameplay and grafics... it wont be that good. but what i am more looking for is the super special stages with iOpener,... i think that is gona be the power of WRC2Quote:

Okay so a few new countries but that simply isn't good enough. The stages were badly designed in the first game and yet they're just dusting them off and using them again...as if they weren't reused enough already. Creating a 'Y' shape stage is bad enough, it gets tedious quickly, but to then drop it into the sequel is unacceptable. You may as well get rid of the co-driver, anyone with both games will know every inch of the stage off by heart.Quote:
