Stage win for Mikkelsen!
How badly does Hanninen want to win this, or is it more important to get to the finish on the podium ?
11,1 could be possible for Mikkelsen tomorrow !
14 cars left, feel sorry for the Scots arranging this nice rally, that more cars should drive next year.
Someone, please give the beauty a driving course, maybe she should ask Mouton - she still has the speed !
Juho doesn't need any points. He just wanted to have a battle with Kris on British soil. So victory is the main goal ;)
Euan Thorburn is doing very well by the way.
Mikkelsen is saying that new developed Hankook tyres are really very good. He says they are as good as BF Goodrich and he is proving that with this stagewin. Let's see what he can do tomorrow.
he has to say all these as they pay him a whole year.Suddenly without competition in this rally and Hanninen in cruising mode, hankooks became equal :dozey:Quote:

Amazing time from Meeke on the last stage considering he had so little brakes, but its unreal how much bad luck hes had this year!
Got to say though I feel for the spectators that have made the jorney up with so few cars in the rally. Surely part of it must be down to Rally Gb being only a month away and it would be better for rally Scotland to be in the spring/summer time?
Mikkelsen quote in IRCseries.com:
Mikkelsen fired a warning shot by guiding his M-Sport Fiesta around in 9m55.5s, fastest of all and 0.9s quicker than Hänninen's Škoda.
"That was very good, I had a good rhythm through the stage," said Mikkelsen. "I'm really happy with the way our development has gone. If they want me to go for the win then I'll try but otherwise I'll go for the podium."
With what is regarded by the majority as worse tyres and a worse car, and with such little experience compared to Hanninen, I think these times really show how good Mikkelsen can become. I'm very excited about his future.
That race wasn't in Normandy, but in Lombardia (Italy) and it was by far much better than this rally. The finish there was in Como, where the last rally of the CIR 2010 is later this month.Quote:

I really liked the final camera location just after the watersplash and just in front of a quick right hander :-)
Anybody knows the link to the results of national event?

Eight out of eight stages so far..... aiming for all tomorrow as well though depends what the access is like.
It was indeed in Lombardy, my mistake. And yes, it was good. Gilbert did well to hold of Scarponi.Quote:

Tyres, probably... but I think the Fiesta is probably at least as fast on gravel as the Fabia. Andreas has been around a few years already so I think you exaggerate a little about his lack of experience but he has been very impressive here in Scotland. First time he has been truly impressive in IRC this year IMO, although a lot of that may have been down to the tyres previously.Quote:

Neuville puncture on left rear but he's still trying hard...
Cronin stopped. Again :(
Will Mikkelsen give it a go today or will he settle for second place ?
Any bets ?

The stage was really nice. Pure rallying, for me... ;)
The chopper was there, we saw it from the cars, but no live feed.
Nice stage, and very narrow in places, and a few nasty bridges...
What happened to cave, puncture or technical ?
