Nothing happened to Juho. Sweden is not a round of SWRC, so Juho is not going to start there.

I think RED BULL and Skoda wanted to have ONE car running in Sweden - they might have choosen Sandell for several reasons: logistical, because of the previous contracts, because he is Swedish, because Ekstrom isn't ready and Andersson not free, because he is bringing up some additional sponsors money,...

Until the words "Red Bull" and "Skoda" I was with you. But from them on it was total darkness for me. :D

Unless you have had your face glued to a PC permenantly stuck on the internet for the last few weeks there is no way it is possible to know squat of what you've just said. All I knew is that Gassner and Hanninen with now possibly Sandell will do Mexico.

No, Sandell will definitely not be in Mexico, nor will he do the other rounds of SWRC (at least there is no evidence of) - I believe you're lost somewhere...

I am afraid you might as well have been talking to a cheese pastie. This is a prime example in practice of the most obvious problem with a lot of people being oblivious to articles which never make it to certain official and unnoficial WRC websites until it makes it to forums and message boards.

When you have both vying for the interest of the naive beginner, and when both are seen by them as highly credible, just how possible is it for these people to be easily confused when they hear one thing from one source but not the other?

The main wrc.com website just reported to me that Patrick was going to make way for Hanninen and Gassner. I am afraid to say it said little if anything about Patrick still being in the team until the end of Sweden and why it is he remains with them till the end.

Is it clear anywhere as to which rounds Gassner and Hanninen will be doing other than Mexico? Amd what of Bernado Sousa who are the other confirmed SWRC drivers? I know now about Ott Tanak.

Yes, like 20, 30 or 40 others... The problem is, it wouldn't be that easy... Unless Red Bull creates another team for SWRC, let's call it Torro Rosso :-D maybe with another car supplier... ;-) To have or not to have RB as a sponsor makes a difference...

Daniel Oliveira and perhaps, Armindo Araújo, will run the Mini S2000 1.6T for the first time in Portugal and the wrc version just on Italy with Meeke and Sordo.

Car will only be homologated 1st of March.... so no Sweden for sure :D

The official works team is only with Sordo and Meeke.
Oliveira will start first with the Mini S2000 1.6T and then later, he will switch to a wrc version but as private.

Xavier Pons will do the spanish championship with Fiesta S2000

Yes, should be done in this way, SP before Portugal and WRC before Sardegna... However Prodrive says that hey are even ahead of this schedule... what on the other hand should not change their plans for entering in the WRC...

There is only one homologation for both. It's SAME car with additional WRC kit homologated as option.

I appear to have mistakenly thought though at the end of last year an announcement was made for all the cars ran in the main championship were to go to the S2000 regs.

So in effect the Fiestas in the SWRC ran by MM Motorsport and Team Ford/Quinta Do Lorde will be the same as those ran by BP Ford Abu Dhabi, Adapta, Monster WRT, Munchi's and Ipatec. I know those in the main championship go by the Ford Fiesta RS, and I think those in the IRC are the R2's, but the technical spec of both is that of the S2000.

What is the primary difference between the MINI S2000 and the MINI WRC? Or as Mirek said cars ending in S2000 and cars ending in WRC just differ in some smaller way like a different aero package?

I was just going to ask about this. It's mentioned in this article at MTV3's site.

Gr. N car = S2000?

In the interview he also says that it wouldn't have been difficult for him to gather budget to buy a seat at Ford, but "he prefered a team that values him more as a driver than a buyer".

Also mentiones that development work for DS3 WRC has been going on for a year and a half.

Last info off the weather we had last nigt alot of rain and today wetsnow so the snow is changing in ice so that will be great for the rally cars.

I see 4 Ford Fiesta WRC's now on entry list, Latvala, Hirvonen, Block and Kuipers. Awaiting Mathew and Henning? also no sign (yet) of Kimi, Van Merjkstein and Petter. Does anyone know what time today entries close, mid day or end of the business day, e.g 17:00 or whenever.

Mathew Wilson and Henning Solberg are on the entrylist, together with Ostberg, Kuipers, Latvalla and Hirvonen for Ford. Citroen only has Loeb, Ogier and Raikkonen. Stil no Van Merksteijn :(

MTV3 says Van Merksteijn starts later in season, they say Citroen has only 3 cars ready for Loeb, Ogier, Kimi.
