Matěj Smrž is Jakub's brother? Nice to see Gareth Jones and Jed Metcher do well and I see veteran Arie Vos is still kicking around and at the pointy end.Quote:

I'd love to see Allerton and Stauffer get a win just to tighten things up even further at the front (but I want Waters to take the title).Quote:

What a surprise. He's still a gun, even at 100 years of age! :pQuote:

Looks a quality field too Wim. Muggas, Daemen, Veneman, Van Keymeulen and Teuchert are highly experienced at international level and I know Gareth Jones is very good too. Is Stefan Nebel on the KTM?Quote:

Dario Giuseppetti (Ducati) was braking to late just after the start of the second race and took out Veneman (BMW), Teuchert (Yamaha), Bauer (KTM) and Matěj Smrž (Honda). Of course there was a red flag and a herstart one half hour later. Only Smrž couldn't make it to the herstart, because to much damage on his bike.
It was really Nürburgring weather too. Around 13 degrees, very windy and rain in the morning. When the track was completely dry at the start of the first SBK race, there was a little rain at the end of that race and there was much heavier rain in the Supersport race and very much rain just after the second SBK race when the Sidecars drove.
I was also by the press conference at the end of the first race. Really nice how relaxed the IDM guys are. I spoke with Karl Muggeridge, Werner Daemen (I am from his village ;) ), Barry Veneman, Stefan Nebel, Jörg Teuchert from the SBK riders, Michael Ranseder and Jesco Günther from the Supersport (respectively 1st and 3rd in the wet race) and to Markus Reiterberger who won the Yamaha R6-Dunlop Cup on a half wet / half dry race.

Toby Price has toppled team-mate Ben Grabham in the first leg of the Finke Desert Race.
Coming in at one hour, 58 minutes and 42 seconds, the current Australian motorcross champion established a comfortable 10-minute lead ahead of the field for the return trip on Monday.
Three-time consecutive King of the Desert champion Ben Grabham was expected to cross first after making good time off the start, but he experienced mechanical problems 50 kilometres north of Finke and it has been confirmed he has dropped out of the race.

This weekend will be the 4th round for the IDM in Oschersleben. The winners of this Dutch Superbike and Dutch Supersport race will be there, just as Kervin Bos.
Toby Price is a gun. AJ Roberts had a pretty ordinary one. Would've expected him to be a bit higher up. I've a new found respect for the former national treasurer now he's quit politics...Quote:

Today is the 6 hours of Spa on the famous circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. Big news is the comeback for one race for Stéphane Mertens and Didier de Radiguès as teammates. There are other famous Belgians at the start like Werner Daemen, Sébastien Le Grelle, Grégory Fastré, Marc Fissette, Wim Van den Broeck, multiple Belgian champion Louis Wuyts, Marnix D'Hondt... The winners of last year are there too: Didier Jadoul and Karl Dutronquois.
There are some foreign riders at the start: Arie Vos (Dutch Superbike leader and last year in the World Supersport), Rafaël Sinke... and the British Phase One Endurance team is there with Scott Smart and Hugh Brasher as their riders.
Tomorrow, Sunday, there will be 2 races of the Dutch Superbike, Dutch Supersport and the Belgian Supersport.
