ARCA still races on the DuQuoin and Springfield miles (both in Illinois). I went to the race in Duquoin Labor Day last year and had a great time. Part of the reason I wanted to go was to see a "Nascar-like" car race on dirt. I like dirt tracks and dirt track racing, but really hate the way most late-model classes look. (I like sprinters and IMCA modifieds)
I also wanted to see how Scott Speed adapted himself to the dirt tracks. He did ok, top 10 I think, but Frank Kimmel blew 'em all away. :p : Ken Schraeder was there too and got the biggest cheers. (finished third) :)
on edit: DuQuoin could handle 43 cars, but the pit situation would have to be addressed, the pits are at the edge of an infield lake (laid out for boat races by the way.) and to come back onto the track you run along side of it and have to make a sharp right turn to get back on the track and then of course a sharp left to get going the proper direction. ARCA had pit stops under yellow and it was something else, I can just imagine 43 Nascar cars coming out, I bet some of said cars would end up in the lake! :D . I have never seen Springfield so I don't know how it is there.
