Talladega Cup Race Thread

Somewhat off the topic of the thread sorry but i wonder how would the infamous talladaga race fans take to a toyota driving Kyle Busch fan from the UK!! I would really like to go to Talladaga this year or next year but i'm somwehat put off by the way the media portray the fans there as being more than a little crazy.Also when i read magazines like nascar illustrated there seems to be a growing xenophobia against foreign manufactures,foreign drivers is it going to extend to foreign race fans.Maybe i'm just being a little paranoid as ive been to 9 races and always had a great time and made to feel very welcome.

The stereotype of the intolerant redneck NASCAR fan is much overhyped. You usually find that NASCAR fans are just fellow human beings.

The issue of the xenophobia of NASCAR fans against a "foriegn" manufacturer doesn't seem to have materialized as many had hoped and prayed for.

You will be fine. I went to my first NASCAR race this year and the fans are great.

Talladega is more about being one big party of race fans rather than "rednecks against foreign auto makers". Heck, the Honda plant is just an exit or 2 up interstate 20. Being that my husband is employed there, he would be thrilled if Honda joined the NASCAR world. (only a fool would say it is not gonna happen)

Back to the question.... people have come from all over the world to experience Talladega racing. I doubt it matters to the avg race fans where the person sitting next to them came from and would more than likely share their beer. ;)

Gotta love it eh "Jr Nation" treated to a win from the most talented, exciting driver in the feild. Let the cans come boys I hope they have plenty saved for the seasons end. :p

I personally think Denny Hamlin had the fastest car. (Of course the fastest doesnt always win the race) Im no big Hamlin fan but he spent a large part of the race with the nose of his car under the leaders back bumper.

Great race ! Gibbs cars all looked great . Congrats to all #18 fans , Wild thing is such a good name for little Busch. He flat out drives it like he stole it , is he the most tallented driver in NASCAR ? Roush cars seem to to all run well, Did anyone ever figure out the "loose wheel/tire going down" feeling all Rousch cars were feeling about mid run ? I felt sorry for Biffle , another perfect driving performance and finishes 40th.
