yes, he has become this forums public enemy nr1 this weekend
Just an unlucky incident. Tanak caught Meeke in a narrow place, and simply there wasn't enough room for 2 WRC cars side to side.
What a dumbass move by Tanak. And his big mouth recently, he definitely lost his mind after moving in the new team.
Nonsense. I was very annoyed by his complaints and conspiracies over the snow ploughing on Friday, but he did apologize for that later. The Meeke incident was 100% a misjudgment on his part, so he was very wrong to blame Meeke; however, keep in mind that in the heat of the moment details are lost, and we don't even know what he could recollect after the incident because no interviews said anything else afterwards. He might also feel like apologizing again but nobody asked him about it.
I might have suffered today when he began cracking Latvala but Tanak is a class act almost all the time.

Meeke has the wheels a bit to the left almost all the time to avoid getting stuck in the ditch. He's not moving left.
Great rally so far, unfortunately i couldn't watch all stages live but caught up now. Some good battles, too bad they're not showing more of WRC2 that was also very contested!
About the various comments and frustrations of drivers, I think Julian Porter mentioned this also, remember they are asking the drivers stuff seconds after they finish the stage, most likely nerves are still tense and adrenaline is high so they can sometimes say things in the heat of the moment and after they calm down a bit maybe they would have a bit different view. So maybe we should take those comments a bit more lightly.
It seems Neuville is confirming his speed from last year, with a good help from the road position. Tanak did a great job to bring the fight to Latvala, i guess his rushed passing of Meeke was also because he wanted to win that fight. Also decent run by Mikkelsen and Paddon. But for me man of the rally so far is Craig Breen. I hope i don't jinx him!
As for the cars in general the Hyundai seems a good fit for this rally, can't say much about Ford or Toyota because of the road but I did expect a bit more from Toyota, however the big surprise is Citroen, after what they showed last year on this rally this performance is night and day.
As a final impression i'm (pleasantly) surprised so many drivers are still on the road with no rally2 and no crashes or big offs!
Quite interesting onboard from Ott.

Martin didn't fasten his seatbelts before Ott start moving. And he drive over 90kph without seatbelts.
As I remember Loeb get 2min penalty for this kind of situation at Sardegna 2008? 2009? when Elena jump into a car after tyre change and didn't fasten seatbelts before car starts to move.

EDIT// Looks that the link isnt working, but go to Enthusiasts of Rally Sweden Facebook.
re after stage comments: exactly - drivers are 'hot' and do say what is 'hot' in their mind. Do we want to hear 'polished' PR bullsh** like in F1? thanks god that some drivers speak what they feel at the moment - sometimes they wrong, sometimes funny and whatever - but those are real tense emotions, and I want them! and more than half a sentence :)
Not many mistakes by the WRC drivers in this rally, and only 1 retirement. Tomorrow only 3 stages but 2 are 20+ Km, so things can still happen. Neuville has just to control, this is a very good chance, I hope he won't throw it away (again). Also great rally by Breen, he would totally deserve to be on the podium.

He did almost 120 and Martin said something to him(asked to slow down because of belts?). Looks like Martin never put left belt properly over his shoulder. It was between his back and seat rest of the stage.
You can hear/see from the onboard Ott is accelerating pretty hard about 10sec before Martin says something....
Looks like the road is getting narrower on the right side, and that it was not room to pass there. Meeke can not get further to the right. It is hard to see if Tanaks car is in a straight line, and where on his car he hits the Citroen.
Looks like an racing incident.
Storm in a tea cup should become the slogan of this season based on the first two rounds.
Meeke - Tanak - racing incident. One tried to leave space for overtaking(road was to narrow, so not enough room left), another took a chance - and not succeeded... so basic racing incident, but I can see that matter will be dragged for at least 10 pages with loads of insults...
Getting my popcorn :)
Actually both have calmed down, analysed the situation and said that it was just bad luck with both sides responsible. No need to go any further.
Actually I was just thinking that almost everyone made a mistake. It's just that the deep(and not too hard) snowbanks let them get away with it. (Alternatively you can say that they make mistakes cause they risk more because of snowbanks)
To list from top
Neuville - spin SS10
Breen -into a bank SS8
Mikkelsen - spin SS10
Paddon - spin SS16
Østberg - nothing
Lappi - snowbank SS6
Latvala - nothing just very wide with timeloss on SS10
Sunninen - spin and snowbank SS10 and SS11
Tanak - crashout with Meeke
Ogier - spin SS7
Evans - at least 3? spins
The Swedish Television coverage from today was very very good ! ( 1 Hour long)
A good mix from official WRC-clips and own reports and also some deeper reports how the team work with collecting what to do with the car on service and difference between the drivers pace note system and how the pace notes works.
Tumbs up for that ! I hope some of the guests here in Sweden seen it and could understand the parts were they talked English =)

Nope, he just went wide there and sucked into snowbank. Then engine lost power and has turbo warning, Kris thought that it was just snow on radiator stop and send Paul to check and clean that snow, but there was no snow. He think that snow could get into air intake and damaged turbo.
But that turbo sounds before his off - sound weird.
Why has Henning gotten +6,20 min from the stewards?
