That bump that Meeke went off on is really well known. If my memory doesn't deceive me, someone else either went off or nearly went off there a few years ago.
Very very lucky and not very professional. I guess Meeke deserve some luck though finally.
panic reaction... loss of direction
So, the C3 showed some speed after all (at least in Meeke's hands). But as long as Ogier is able to control the pace and be consistently on the podium, he won't be much troubled. Yaris was not good at all. Both cars 4 minutes behind the leader. As for Hyundai, they were able to get some good Manufacturer's points, which were needed.Evans and Tanak, once again, doing their best. Both have come leaps and bounds ahead of the disastrous 2015 campaign.
i suspect he lost track of where he was, as it seems he drove around in a circle before he went back to the road..where as he could just have kept straight and gone directly back to the road
WHAT A FINISH OF A RALLY!!!!
MEEKE! I WILL HAVE WHITE-HEAD WITH YOU!
You lucky bustard! :D
Meeke is getting really good at flying off the track. In the next rally, he will hit a bump and go flying across the finish line.
To the Yaris Defence, they did expect a poor performance this weekend and a lof of it is down to thecnical issues.
Sure, the pace wasn't blinding the times they were trouble free, but it wasn't horribly off either.
The biggest plus for me was the Citroen's performance once road conditions were equal. To me that means it isn't off the pace as we believed after the last two rallies.
What were they thinking letting people park there though, pretty sure it was blocked off last year due to many moments in that corner.
Edit: finish was at the jump last year
Paddon had a moment at that corner in 2015 if I remember correctly.
it would be nice to have some good onboard footage of that off, from that useless camera angle i thought meeke rolled.
Useless promoter of shit !!!!
Meeke told himself that hes worried about that bump because it can upset the car, i was just thinking about it when he approached that corner. Anyway good stuff, and he was so so lucky!
I don't remember specifics but I too remember that someone had a moment there so you are likely right. It's funny, I told my wife as ogier went past that corner something like "I'm pretty sure someone had an incident there a few years ago, let's hope Meeke doesn't do anything stupid now"
watch Citroens team reaction ,skip to -5,20 sec

I only said to my missus after watching Camilli go past that those cars were parked in a stupid location...
Pleased for Meeke, but its pretty ironic that the car that seems to be the fastest under these new regs (Hyundai) is the only one that hasn't won yet!
hahahaha from Meekes twitter.

What a rollercoaster of emotion watching that stage was, never experienced anything like it. Live stages make for this great TV
The luckiest man on planet Earth tonight, it has made up for all the unlucky days he's had. Clean slate now for the rest of the championship but unfortunately Meeke still has a lot of ground to make up. Too much in my opinion as he is too inconsistent which is the pity.
But in fairness.....he does make things bloody interesting!! Never a dull moment. Just like his mentor.
McRae would be laughing at the whole situation tonight. Something he could himself :D
That's why we love rallying, anything can happen :D
has anybody at vide Neuvilles Tanak and Ingrassias reaction?
So what's the score so far - a win for the "Fragile" Ford, a win for the "Village" Toyota, and a win for the "Underestimated dog" Citroen. The best car still hasn't won yet, what this season has to offer further?!?
