MG S2000 Sport
LS54 DMU - Mark Higgins / Rory Kennedy - Border Counties Rally
EN04 BNV - Stuart Jones / Andy Bull - Red Dragon Rally
I will keep you updated of the final results as and when they are known. Keep up the good work.
Andreas Waldherr won't take part to Lavanttal Rally(start leg 1 today)because engine problem on his Polo S2000 !!! :(
Loix Pug in Turkey has a registration plate KRO-207 or KRU-207.
If I saw it right the numberplate of Casier's VW Polo S2000 for TAC-rally this weekend is YNF-583. Normally it is a brand new car, that arrived from South-Africa only last week, after the other new Polo was destroyd in the testing accident of Larry Cols. :(Quote:

LS54 DMU - Mark Higgins / Rory Kennedy - Border Counties Rally - 5th Overall & 2nd in Class N4
EN04 BNV - Stuart Jones / Andy Bull - Red Dragon Rally - Fastest on stage times, but didn't hand in time cards as they were only using event as a test session.

As I take it they are newly built in 2007/8
They are using the identities from the older Zr's as they had bare shells when they converted them to S2000 spec

Two years after making his British Rally Championship debut, 23 year old Welshpool resident Stuart Jones returns for another attempt at the title. Stuart will contest the series as a works driver with one of the most dynamic cars to compete in the British Isles in quite some time, the revolutionary MG Super 2000 Sport.
Stuart, who was the 2004 Peugeot Super Cup Champion and winner of numerous rounds of the Mitsubishi Evo Challenge, will be partnered by experienced co-driver Andy Bull for the full campaign. This could also include a selection of events in Europe later in the season, as the young Welshman takes on the very important role as a works driver in the MSD run project.
After impressing team principal David Whitehead on the Wales Rally GB in 2007, Stuart was offered a dream seat as the works driver for 2008. This role also includes being involved in the testing and development of the new car. Feedback from Stuart will be used to provide setup data on the customer cars in the U.K, Ireland and Europe.
David Whitehead: MSD and MG are delighted to have teamed up with Stuart Jones. We see Stuart as one of the UK’s emerging rally talents, so it is entirely appropriate that he is one of the first to seriously campaign the MG S2000 in the fast emerging Super 2000 category. We fully expect Stuart to take the challenge to the leading Group N competitors and wish him the best of luck.
The team also welcomes a brand new sponsor in the form of Lico Wheels (www.licowheels.com). Produced in Italy, Lico are a leading supplier of competition wheels throughout Europe, which are manufactured to an extremely high standard. With SJR Motorsport becoming the official distributor of Lico Wheels in the U.K. their common aim is to become the Number One competition wheel supplier in Europe.
Lico, who are South American based, join Stuart’s own personal sponsors PIAA, Rallytech, Teng Tools, Motorsport Insurance Service and Dacha Oak Products in supporting the talented Welshman in his bid to make it to the top of the sport.
With minimal testing having been carried out on the still new car Stuart is under no illusions about the challenges ahead. The car has come along a lot since Wales Rally GB but nothing beats competitive mileage against your rivals. Whilst we can already see gains in performance we won’t really have an idea of our pace until we arrive at the Pirelli Rally and go head to head, but I am really confident that we can take the fight to the top drivers in the Championship. We recently used the Red Dragon Rally as a test and were very pleased with how the day went. A big thanks to MSD who have put a lot of time and effort into developing the car since Wales Rally GB. I am confident that we will be on the pace from the beginning.
A recent test on the Red Dragon Rally in South Wales bodes well for the team, after Stuart and Andy experienced a trouble free day and were pleased to be on the pace of the front runners. They will now re prepare the car ahead of the season opener, the Pirelli International Rally, which takes place in Carlisle from 18th to 19th April.

Yes, he just drove one event in Holland with his old car. Now his 207 S2000 is ready and the 106 MAXI will be driven by danish talent Kasper Nyman Andersen who won the DASU Suzuki Challenge last year.
Thanks Pucky54 ;)
This article explains what is happening with the homologation of Ford Fiesta and Toyota Corolla (Auris) S2000 cars.
http://www.rally.com.au/home/features/articleid=2843
It's not over yet then for the Fiesta S2000 :)
So they get special homologations that can only be used in the asia-pacific region, with lower amount of kits...
I would say that technically they are the same cars as elsewhere, only the number of build kits are not the same as required for normal homologation.Quote:

Anyone that know if M-Sport has started their work on the new shape Fiesta S2000 ?
400 000€ for two old shape Fiestas incl spares without homologation so far is expensive, but maybe not if they get FIA homologation ???
Anyone with more spesific info on when the Auris will have FIA papers in order, and if there are anyone in Europe that is part of this program - Is Grifone out of the Toyota S2000 future ?

And they will use the sprint rally in Sweden to sort out the car during the Rally.
