I know and i never questioned his ability on roads he knows by heart and doesn't need a co-driver. Track drivers are also useful.......Quote:

Talent is not something you build over time - either you've got or you don't - and it should be obvious for everybody now, that Matt Wilson doesn't have the talent to be other than the odd points scorer!
Lol, You are missing forest behind trees. Any driver can do one fast random split now and then. As long as Wilson is not able to deliver one good stage not to mention a good rally we shouldn't see any ray of light. Just compare Wilson's developement to Atkinson, Hirvonen or Sordo and you will see difference between talented drivers and mediocre guy.Quote:

I wasn't on this website when Richard Burns started his WRC career, but I'm sure he would have been slagged off by some of you guys for being slow - fact is, he went about learning the events in a methodical way, got to grips with the car, the different nature of the rallies and gradually increased his pace, with very few expensive accidents - then when he was capable of winning events, he upped his pace and went for it.
I don't honestly believe Wilson is another Burns, but he is approaching his rallying the same way - by the time he is as old as Wilks, he will be quicker than Wilks is now.... I suspect there is just some frustration from people that he is in a 'works' seat because of his father, while faster drivers like Galli and Gardemeister are sitting at home watching - but this does not make him a **** driver - if he had stayed in the UK doing BRC I would not expect him to be far behind Higgins and Wilks now, and look how much more experience they have......
Hope they get the Suzuki fixed for Superrally - I want to see it in Epynt tomorrow! :(
mediocre ??? don't overate him......Quote:
