I really hope he makes it to service, 2nd place is a damn good result from him and I'd hate to see him lose it.

So the championship is over. Let's start waiting for 2017 to start in 11months
Ogier 56 points, Mikkelsen 33, Latvala 0...
Championship standings
1 Sebastien OGIER 56
2 Andres MIKKELSEN 33
3 Mads ØSTBERG 27
4 Dani SORDO 18
5 Haydon PADDON 18
56 points?!!?
6 Ott Tänak 16 points
Tidemand quicker than Evans but not enough... very impressed with Evans and the new Fiesta although I think Tidemand had slightly more speed overall.
Lappi goes fast on last stage and beats Gröndal with 10,8 s, Lappi takes the last podium place with 2,1 s to Gröndal.
Great drive from Breen!
Another crushing win for Ogier, even if he did use up a lot of luck at times!
Solid job by Breen, hope he gets more chances this season to build on the experience.
Great win for Evans in WRC2 :D
And Suninen takes 10th overall!! and 2nd R5.!! Great Teemu
Very good job by Paddon. I guess Hyundai didn't lose too much to VW in the manufacturers standings.
Paddon stopped on the transport but then started moving again a few minutes later.

Stars of the rally.
WRC
3stars Ogier was really strong driving 1st on the road. Great victory again!
2stars Paddon did a great rally. hope can fight for victory in Mexico!
1star Mads and Ott. Good effort with Ford both drivers.
WRC2/R5
3 stars for Evans. Hope Wilson change Evans in and Camilli out in WRC car.
2 stars Teemu suninen. Great 2nd Place R5 and fastest Skoda! 10th overall. great powerstage
1 star Lappi made 1 mistake. Fast young gun and great in powerstage. takes podium finally
Ogier is a legend! Well done dominator.
Mikkelsen, what a terrible rally for him. I didn't expect so poor showing, especially after very strong Monte. Latvala? Just repeat of 2015 start... The gap to Ogier is already monstrous.
Ostberg on 3rd place with being so slow through all rally long, really says it all about competition. Nevertheless good performance by Paddon and Tanak.
We had some great fight in WRC-2. Evans is doing the job, for real. I'm cheering for this guy this season! Also Sunninen, yet another perfect weekend.

Wow - what a great event!
The Rally:
The organisers should get their names in the WRC Hall of Fame for their effort to turn things around.
It looked like it was going to be a one day event, but due to major work from the Rally Sweden crew, it became almost a complete event.
The Drivers:
The best: Sebastien Ogier again showed - by his "I-take-no-prisoners" attitude - his enormous talent. He accomplished an impossible task, winning this rally from the front. And to really rub it in, he also took the Power Stage. He is just on another level, and its rally history being made every time he enters a stage.
The Star Of The Rally 1: Temuu Suninen - WOW! This guy is made of something special. His times - and remember his limited experience - have been great and consistent during the whole weekend. In a fight for second with much more experienced FACTORY drivers, he kept his cool and delivered. Starting position is off course a factor, but so is his very limited rally experience, and especially 4WD experience.
His SSS was incredible - but his speed at the Power Stage even more so. Pontus Tideman has to have the most surprised look on his face in all of Sweden right now. He was putting the pressure on Evans, but got his but kicked on the last stage, to loose second to Sunnier by 0,1 second. Wow!
Harri Juki has made another good investment, and i bet him and Tommi is having long talks already. Just WOW!
The Star Of The Rally 2: Elfyn Evans - Deeply impressed by this newly motivated Evans. He needs this time in the R5 to really get a kick in the but, and its paying off. To beat off the attack from every local talent in this rally is an extremely good performance. I did not think he had a chance against Tideman, but boy was I proved wrong. Another great performance from Evans.
The Start Of The Rally 3: Haydon Paddon - he took all the advantage from a good starting position, and put it to use. A very grown up performance from the SPEEDY KIWI. His speed on the fast stuff is undoubtable, but he gets dents in the armour every time a Super Special Stage comes up in the itinerary. A marvellous performance, that is a stark contrast to Thierry Neuville and Dani Sordo.
Worth mentioning:
Dmack tires shows promise. - Ott Tänak did a grown up job. - Henning Solberg showed he hadn't lost it completely, and is by far the most charismatic of all the drivers. - Sweden's Young talents Åhlin and Bergqvist, were especially the latter put in a very good performance his limited 4WD experience and his DS3 taken in account (but they have a long way up to Suninen) - and Kris Meeke who again shows his speed, being the only one at the moment that can challenge Ogier, and that is very positive if we have the 2017 season in mind. :)
Bergqvist and his co-driver did a very good job when you have in mind that they both felt unwell on Friday's stages.
Åhlin drove good until he crashed out.
Tidemand a solid job but a bit unfortunate with the drive shaft problem although it might possibly be self-inflicted.
We'll see next year if there is a Rally Sweden and in that case where it is.
I wonder what's happening in the head of Malcolm Wilson now. So far Evans has been completely outperforming Camilli.
I was just thinking the same. Mads has done great but the speed he has shown isn't anything special. I'm thinking that Wilson has second thoughts about letting Tänak and Evans go.
@Lundefaret Comparing Bergkvist to Sunninen is quite unfair. Remember Sunninen has driven 4WD many times at least last year if I´m not completely lost. Although Sunninen did a good job, he had good starting position and in my eyes no pressure in opposite to Bergkvist who may had a one shot in this rally.
One should also have in mind that for some drivers the most important was to finish not to be fastest on last (sprint) powerstage. Therefore times on last stage didn´t say everything about stars or skills to me.
Paddon stopped for a while on the edge of Karlstad, but seems to be moving again!
Got some really nice shots (ok the best ones was my by GF but she is a better photographer than me) on the last stage. I'm going to upload some of them when I get home tonight.
The rally was a blast. First time I was on my home rally and despite the shortened route it was enjoyable!
So we have a bad news and a good one after today.
First the bad :)
It is not quite a news actually but more a confirmation. As long as Ogier will be around the outcome will be the same. Simply stunning driver.
BUT we have a good one too.
When Seb will retire, we will have very very challenging championships with high talented drivers. WRC2 guys and young guns in WRC proved that the level of drivers of the future will be very high and also more "leveled" (is this a correct word? :) ). It is a pleasure to witness such learning curves improving from rallies to rallies, latest years was not like this.
Congrats to Ogier,well deserved win.
Nice surprise from Paddon.Agree with somebody who wrote yesterday that seems to be the most clever driver.
Dissapointment from Mikkelsen, waiting to fight for win
Same for Latvala.Seems while he has the guts to steer flat out with 6 speed,he cant manage his mind.He is scared.
Ostberg have lost his speed.Dont remember when was the last time he impressed with speed at a single stage. He has to stop the silly excuses.
Waiting to be slower at next rallies,if this was his speed at his homeland event.
Meeke best driver behind Ogier, but not full programm, and not so lucky.
Breen much better from what i was waiting.
Neuville better pace from last year, but its not enough. At second half of the year he will have ''problem'' with Paddon imho.
Sordo didnt wait more from him at this rally.
Camilli was ok till the roll.Ok special event,no experience. He have chances ahead of him to proove himself.I dont agree that Malcolm will change his mind about Camilli vs Evans.Wrc car is different level.
Tanak good first day,but dmacks seems to have a long way to be top tyre player.
Evans didnt waiting to be inside Sweden fastest, and control the rally from stage 1. Excellent.
Lappi Tidemand, with works drives, inside your homeland you have to win. If not to be faster.
Very nice pace from Sunninen, and Ahlin till the crash. But i would like to see something similar and at next gravel rallies from Sunninen.
At the end kudos to our member blluuford because he knew that the rally will be happen for all the days.
Roll on Mexico, where we would measure better the speed of the new i20.
Hello Micke_VOC, as I said I always suspect self infliction when there is a lot of "bad luck."
If Pontus drive shaft issue was self inflicted or not, I dont know. You say there was a nut that broke, and it was just bad luck. I believe You, but I would like to ad that a nut very rearly brakes with out any forces acting upon it.
Here's my video from a pretty decent Swedish Rally in the end!
Good job by the organisation :)

Too tired to do the podium this time, sorry!
