Rain is getting much heavier

This bit was interesting
as it seems we're in for a rainy morning but a non-rainy afternoon.Quote:
Let’s see what the weather does. If it does rain, it can be more consistent and wash [the mud off] the road – and if the sun comes out, the grip can get worse and it can be the most tricky.
Petter on Pirellis in a wet GB, rings a bell.
It's quite a good stage but it really should've been run in daylight for fans & viewers benefit.
Shakedown back to Llandudno and onto Liverpool could've been done by early afternoon... then started Oulton Park by 4.30pm.
Had an ok day watching RGB today - didn't start well when Police closed the Wallasey tunnel while I was driving through it. I sat in there for an hour before they reopened it, which meant I was late arriving to shakedown and had a longer than planned walk all the way up to the stage, only arriving at a 90R just as Tanak started the stage. The action was good, though I can see from the videos linked earlier that there were better spots if I'd had more time to explore.
In the afternoon I went to watch the ceremonial start - not usually my kind of thing, but I live in Liverpool and the office where I work is only 500m from the rally start - so it felt quite surreal watching the cars drive across the road and park up at the place where I often go for a walk in my lunch hour! Went onto the rooftop balcony of the Mersey Ferries building (for the cost of a Pepsi in their bar) to get some panoramic photos, though unfortunately the sun had gone in by then.
Dyfnant tomorrow I think - can't be bothered getting up at 3am to do Elsi first (and get soaked in the process), so I'll probably just stay in Dyfnant all day and have a walk through the stage between runs.
