The current generation of cars were a big step up in terms of looks and performance compared to the previous generation. 2022 cars would have given the same effect at the time.

Of course it's still early - plus you have to temper your expectations with the 2022-spec after the 'golden era' of the 2017-2021 mega-tech, mega-aero cars.
My only real disappointment so far (with the Puma), is M-Sport has gone from the prettiest WRC car to the ugliest, now that its been fully-revealed in its true 5-door body. :)

Eye tests are always a bit iffy and folk will have different views, but for me the Puma looks better and quicker than the Yaris. Ofcourse they could be at different stages in their development, but I quite like what I see from the Ford considering it's Matt Wilson driving ( a guy who is miles off the pace in the BRC).
Useless to compare tarmac and gravel testing. Different surface, different setups....

Puma test with great launch giving the full sound plus what looks like a fan running at the rear:

i like the looks of the cars, IMO the Puma looks great not ugly but people are different. Toyota also looks cool.
About the performance, i like what im seeing so far but maybe thats because i really lowered my expectations when it was said they will be slower.
Considering its still quite early phase and its Matthew Wilson who is driving with the Puma, it doesnt look bad at all IMO.
Cant wait to see more vids in near future.
Pity M-Sport couldn't stick with the Puma-Fiesta body shown at Goodwood and in this model - much prettier:

Gryazin has already crashed during his test.

Saw some images from yesterday (through whatsapp, so can't share it here), him crashing was more a question about "when", not "if"... Maybe good it happened now and not on the first stage. I heard some rumor a new shell is already on it's way.
O.Solberg for Ypres

For me the monolitic red on the whole bumper ruins the looks of the car (from the front).
Maybe some more stickers will help, but for some reason there seems to be very few so far.
Often they use mono colored bumpers in testing (in winter they even take the rear bumper off)
Thing is if this is "test only" then why the black "design" stripes near the grille?
Let's hope the final design is better.

Suninen, Kristensson and Rossel testing for Ypres.
Any info if Huttunen got any test at all?
(He did drive on tarmac a few weeks ago, but on very different roads)
I think Huttunen had a day of testing. I think last sunday. Spectating on Belgian tests was mostly forbidden however, so it's unlikely anyone has some footage from it.
Huttunen was testing in Belgium yesterday.
Apparently Hyundai stopped their PET before Acropolis after one day. Rumours about bringing wrong tyres.
what? tarmac ones instead of gravel?
According to this website (https://www.motorone.gr/agones/12390...a-kai-hyundai/), the test had been interrupted last Thursday after two days (Tanak and Neuville) due to serious problems with the Pirelli tyres, and will resume next week with Sordo and the Rally2 car drivers.
of course it happened with Tänak, lol
