Here's the press sheet at AKK's site. The same text is at the museum's website as well. It'll be at Kangasala, close to Tampere, so perhaps not too far off if visiting Finland for NORF.

the idea is good, but the location sucs, jyväskylä would have been better.

Kangasala have existing place for such a cabinet, I think, which propably made the decision. Of course public-wise Jyväskylä or even Jämsä would've been better. At least once a year.

Yeah seems pretty pointless to put this anywhere other than Jyvaskyla.

I did just read somewhere that they have renovated a spa in the old competition center Rantasipi Laajavuori, the hall of fame shold have been placed, in connection to that.

Very true. And now that shakedown's are turned into "Publicity Events" what could be better for the Rally Hall of Fame than to be across the street from where the action starts at Rally Finland.

Being at retrospective, latest VM wrote in the Gossip-section that the historic group that is being planned to WRC would include old World Champions driving cars of their respective era. So - in a dream, in 2011 there'd be Timo Salonen in 205 T16, Kankkunen in Delta Integrale, Mäkinen in Mitsubishi, Sainz in Celica, Grönholm in 206 WRC, Vatanen in Escort MkII warming up or cooling down the show at WRC rounds.

yes, thats how it is, + I know Kankkunen will drive a WRC Focus in the actual rally too.
If you are from Kangasala, I hope you dont get me wrong, I dont complaine because the cabinet comes to Kangasala, I complaine that every time when there is talk's about to move the rally more south, Jyväskylä starts a hell of a lobbing session, promising what ever to keep the rally, but for something like the rally hall of fame the dont do nothing.

Harri Rovanperä has signed a deal to drive 3 desert rallies in us, the team is Kore Performance, Harri did go to test the car and the owner signed him right away. Perfect use for old rally drivers. :)

Just to pass on some info, I'm hearing that van Merksteijn Junior may be doing the whole WRC season in 2011. Senior was impressed with him in Sweden and would like to see him challenge for points.

Personally I think it would be great, as he drives flamboyantly and his cars look great. Anyone who brings money into rallying has to be admired, and I do think Junior did a great job in Sweden.
