Nice pics. We know the exact location?

So did somebody really expected some on the limit flamboyant driving on first development test? Matty Wilson behind the wheel btw.
Probably at the end of the year we can see some true or better speed of these cars until then it's all very controlled and collecting data

Just nearly.
I think the car looks more balanced. They put battery weight exactly where it should be. However you donīt see any travel of center of balance (?) when braking. And also looks VERY heavy in suspension when landing.
So, to me looks slower, but weīll have to deal with it in the future...
Here we go again judging car performance from test videos, and even from very early tests. Also good to remember that likely the drivers won't drive it as hard as Ogier or Tänak on a pre-event test because wrecking it would delay the development crucially. :)
When you say it looks heavy on jump landings, remember that suspension travel has been reduced for the new cars.
Just reading this again from Neuvillr last year...
https://dirtfish.com/rally/wrc/neuvi...on-all-stages/
The hybrid boost supposedly is used only on stage starts and slow corner exits. Also the cars will not go as fast in all places as current WRC cars because of changes in aero, suspension and transmission. In a way they will be closer to Group B cars with high power but more primitive chassis.
For sure yes. Without the active center differential you need to throw it in drifts much more. I expect something like a more powerful WRC car from 2011-2016.
Which means that on most of the gravel and snow stages it's rather useless...
People. Thatīs me in this case.
And yes conclusions are allowed, donīt you think.
And I watched rallycars for ages, and yes I stand for what Iīm saying.
What I didnīt know about is suspension travel. Has it been shortened for 2022, you say AnttiL?
I also wonder about min weight, is it still 1200 kgs with 200 kgs of batterypack?
I'm happy enough from looking at the videos. The noise and drama look to be still there and that's what I loved when watching it live.
Sure it looks a little bit slower at the moment but this is very early days and it doesnt look bad/sound at all. I'd say come the start of next year these will be almost as good as the 2017 cars to watch and for me thats all I was hoping for, once its not a huge step back I'm satisfied.
Nothing will beat watching WRC cars driven at full chat, Ive seen the 2litre (2007+), 1.6 and the latest machines and every one has been amazing, particularly the 17 WRCs.
Looking forward to seeing these in anger in 2022 in Northern Ireland/Finland if all goes to plan!
This is from a FIA newsletter in 2020
Transmission:
- 4WD, five-speed transmission very similar in concept to the current Rally2 rules
- Simple level type differential, no centre differential, only one kinematic drive train
- A maximum of six transmission units per car per year permitted
Suspension:
- Reduced wheel travel
- Simplified dampers with reduced scope for homologation upgrades
- Hubs, hub carriers and anti-roll bar designs will be simplified
- Only one specification of wishbone mandated
Running gear:
- Liquid brake cooling no longer allowed
Fuel tank:
- Simplified shape
Aerodynamics:
- Free volume bodywork area to enable aggressive design maintained
- Aero effect from hidden ducts removed
- Rear aerodynamic advice simplified

You were not even the first one to make "conclusions"
Conclusions based on what? First outing of a mule car? You can conclude what you like but it doesn't give any clearer picture. It's quite pointless when cars are not driven even close to their potential.
But hey, it's a free world

Spot-on mate.
It's very early days - and we dont know what's been fitted on the mule and what's being tested - but it doesnt look too bad anyway and could look a lot worse.
Once its all sorted it looks like the new Rally1 cars will be still be worth watching, even if not as outright fast as the '17 cars.
Plus my fear of the ugly Puma SUV wont be, as the M-Sport cars always look good. I bet the '22 car will look like the Fiesta WRC in all but name. After all the road Puma is basically a Fiesta on stilts with different lights and grille.
Doesn't seem like there's any travel difference, not in drop anyway.

Playing super sub for Dan Barritt for the weekend, whilst he has other commitments!
Fair to say the current spec WRC cars definitely feel as fast as the look
