If that happened on a stage without spectators it would be good 40 mins of shoveling at least...
Tänak and Neuville starting on Estonian winter rally next* weekend.

Hyundai Motorsport is running its i20 World Rally Car in Lapland this week with Thierry Neuville first to run the car in full snow specification.
The Belgian has new co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe alongside for the first time at a pre-event test, following their successful debut together at last month’s Rallye Monte-Carlo.
Team-mates Craig Breen and Ott Tänak follow Neuville into the test car in readiness for the second round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Toyota ships its Yaris World Rally Car north next week, but the current manufacturers’ championship leaders have made the most of solid winter conditions at their permanent test venue close to Jyväskylä.
Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä and Takamoto Katsuta have all driven the car this week, with Sébastien Ogier due behind the wheel on Friday.
While Toyota’s rally HQ sits some 350 miles south of the Arctic Circle, conditions in central Finland have been perfect for winter rally testing, with heavy snow and temperatures as low as -20°C.
Evans said: “We had quite a nice fast stage to run on. I don’t know much about the stages up around Rovaniemi, but I think the road we had was fairly similar. It’s always good to get out in the car again and the conditions were really nice – trust me, it was properly cold!
“Next week’s the set-up test for the event, but this was a good way of getting back into driving the car in this sort of specification, which is pretty different from what we had in Monte.”
M-Sport Ford begins its pre-event preparations with Gus Greensmith and Teemu Suninen the weekend before the event (February 20 / 21) ensuring conditions are as relevant as possible.

Oliver Solberg is having a full test day with i20 WRC today in Rovaniemi area.
Would be interesting to see the data the engineers collect from Oliver, compared to the other up and coming they have had in a 3rd and 4th cars, compared with the top drivers. And also see the development he has during the test and also the rally.

From the look on my face you can probably guess what I’m up to today...!

Check out some action footage and interviews with me (and my dad!) from my first test in the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC at https://youtube.com/watch?v=ANJMG4Vnkkc

based on the tests it seems no rear bumper needed for that rally :D
Some oversteering pics. Maybe necessary in the snowy conditions....?

No, they are taken by Colin Clark.
Very easy to go a bit wide when you have lots of grip in the ruts and powder on the sides.
I once saw studs on a rear tyre not making any marks in the ice on a watered test road with only 2cm of fresh snow on the sides because the new tires float on top.
That car has 2020 rear wing and roof vent. (didn't see any diffuser pic but I guess it also has the 2020 one). Unlike Loubet at Monte who had 2019 versions of all 3.
Maybe it was the only car available and he will run the other one, maybe he is getting this spec unlike Loubet or maybe they'll upgrade both cars.
Noticed that Tänak was testing with fullface helmet..
Any advantages over the ,,regular,, half-open one?
Except maybe warmer and looking like astronaut :D
Probably open face helmets are better in very hot rallies or high altitudes like Mexico where you have low oxygen levels. Meanwhile, on fast rallies you have a bigger risk of a big crash where you can hit your face.
It's crazy to think the drivers were allowed to run without a helmet in Safari in the late 80's (maybe early 90's as well) when it wasn't a special stage rally. But still many sections had high speeds on long straights with very unpredicable obstacles like animals, civil traffic and sudden bumps. The drivers chose to drive without a helmet because the driving days were so long, basically there was no slow liaisons, full speed all the time.
