It's a shame that History part I is no longer online...

For those who like Rally history, you can visite the above link, where you can find hundreads of Raly Portugal pictures from decades ago until now. I am a user of that website, the portuguese Autosport and there are great rally fans there who upload their own pictures of the portuguese Rally history.
It worth the visit, because they identify places like Arganil or Fafe.

And did they have to contest at least 10 WRC rounds, like in 2006, or all of them, like M1 teams?
Never mind that, got the answer in another thread.
This question is a bit obscure, and I just ask it out of interest. In 1982, Timo Salonen is listed on Rallybase as taking part in, apparently, three different types of Datsun — the Violet GTS, Silvia Turbo and Violet GT. I believe the car in which he competed on the 1982 Portuguese Rally, given on Rallybase as a Violet GTS, was making its WRC debut on that event. The turbocharged car with which he tackled the 1000 Lakes (see it on video here — http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SbgwoVUxWYw) looks very similar to the model he drove in Portugal (video of it here — http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ALrrlhQfVfA — described as a 'Silvia Twin-Cam'). I have never seen a picture or film of his RAC car from '82, which Rallybase calls a Violet GT, the same designation as the Datsuns that Salonen had driven in '81, but which I assume wasn't the same model.
Basically, does anyone know why so many different model names were used — and why the turbo car apparently only made one appearance? I know the 240RS was in development for '83, but am still surprised that the turbo Silvia didn't at least have an outing on the '82 RAC — unless it did!
