I've been lucky enough to sit in the passenger seat of an older WRC car and this video comes closest to capturing what it feels like.

I believe it is a safety issue and also the reason why we only see helmet cams from tests. Guess it would be approved only, if the camera is part of the helmet and not attached onto the helmet.Quote:

Also if you think the helmet camera would be streamed online, it means there would have to be a cable attached to it (not just recording on a memory card) which would be another safety issue if the driver has to exit the car quickly.
Something similar may be achieved with a camera mount from the rooftop, just behind the seats, and a wide-angle camera. (sure not driver pov, but a nice cockpit + road shoot)Quote:

It should be one cable in that case. Thought there would be development cost but F1 has had helmet cams for some time (and I haven't followed that series for years now). So just a question of having such helmet for rallying available with good enough image quality.Quote:

Like said, it could be modified to use the same cable for the camera and intercom, but it would require all helmets to be prepared for the camera and more possibilities for the intercom to fail during the stage.Quote:

Remember how they used new diffuser with central exhaust during like a whole week of pre-monte tests this year and then they showed up with side-exhaust (but upgraded diffuser) on the Monte itself and used it ever since. That was massively weird.
