I'm also sobbing and weeping all the time and now I finally got to know why: I have no cojones....
As for brazilians, I don't know...
They're different. For them football is a sort of state of spirit.

FIFA announced Italy's Nicola Rizzoli to referee final between Argentina and Germany.
No really, I'm serious. Whenever they showed the Brazilian players they were sprouting this 'God help us' rubbish and bawled their eyes out. And seriously, if you can't take something as inconsequential as a lost football game without taking leave of your dignity, you shouldn't be in the stadium in the first place. What the heck is that all about? To me that looked a trifle unhealthy.
Motto:“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle.”
― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
I'm very serios too. ( although about 75℅ of those who read my posts won't believe it :p). And I cry almost every day exactly cos I don't want to lose my dignity. You're german(?) and probably more calm, reserved, practical and have a high level of self-esteem. I don't expect you to ever get emotional but please try to understand that we, the latins, are a bit different. It's possible that some of us lack cojones but most of us have corazón.
Well, we have to put emphatically ourselves into their positions. You have lived football all your life with your heart. This means football largely is life to you - and certainly way of making a living and earning a wage. Then you are playing for your home country at the biggest tournament. Which is not a random country, but one, which aims to win. It is not, say, Tahiti-Germany 1:7, it is Brazil-Germany. You are playing in front of your home crowd in one of the most important matches a sportsman can ever imagine.
So much training, so much preparation, so much effort put into it. It is not just playing and "oh it's only football". Maybe for amateurs, who like to kick around for fun at the weekends it would be like that. But to be a top sportsman you have had full dedication to succeed and made many sacrifices in life to reach your goals. Only for all the effort to go out of the window. I'd cry as well to be honest. You really tried hard, have put so much life and heart into it and you failed badly. This will create an emotion.
Would you watch all of your life work (including reputation) go down the drain without any emotion? Think about any job or education or anything you have gone through in your life. Something you really tried hard to be good at and succeed in. And then in a crucial moment you realized that you were a complete embarrassment. And for these guys it was in front of the whole world audience.
For these guys it was not just a game. Their lives will never be the same again. When they walk on streets, whatever, people (particularly their compatriors, Brazilians) will view them differently. At least many will do. They will be looked at as losers. It will be a different kind of feeling to live with. But I think only truly famous people, who get attention everywhere, can undestand, what this means.
So guys, who will watch the match this evening? ( because I need to know how many beers I should set aside :p).
I know it's a not at stake match but it will be fun to watch together the Diver vs the Crybabies.
I'll turn the TV to the channel showing the game, but I don't think I'll seriously watch the game. I'll be interested to see which Brazil we'll see. They'll either come out determined to erase the memory and 'go for it' or they'll come out totally broken-spirited and play ultra-defensively.
I also will watch it, only to see, how many goals will Netherlands score
I'll be watching on and off Gadji (more on if it is a decent match). I just don't know if I like either team. As long as someone ends up crying I guess I'll be satisfied
It's a 1pm start out here and I've got a lot to do around the house, plus I have to pick up the license plate for my new scooter toady, so don't put any beer aside for me I've taken the oath for the weekend :p:
BTW Sorry  about Steaua it sounded like an exciting match, of course I had to work in the field so I didn't even have time to look for a stream, enjoy the season!
Someone will cry anyway: the Diver if Neth....lose, me if Brazil lose.
Satisfaction guaranteed.
It's ok, I'm used with the role of eternal loser. :pQuote:
