The Bastogne Legend Boucles were tarnished by a severe road trip this Sunday morning. In the first timed sector of the day (Les Hautes Virées, 38.47 km), Fred Caprasse and Geoffrey Razzi (Ford Escort) got off the road.
Almost a minute later, Adrian Fernémont and Samuel Maillen, also on a Ford Escort, arrived at the crash site.
"It was a hidden right turn," explains Andennais Adrian Fernémont, Belgian champion of the 2019 rallies. "There was no one to report the car's departure from the road before us. So I approached the curve at a normal running pace when I saw a spectator in the middle of the trajectory. It was impossible for me to avoid it, unfortunately. ”
Projected by Ford on the roadside, this person, whose identity has not been revealed so far, was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the region.
