Here we go to the mud bath. Welcome to Walsy'Norwy'Sweden )
Morning guys of rallying.
Exciting two days to come. Tomorrow seems to be the ultimate challenge...
stage looking in very good condition IMO, the base is good
Into the unknown we go...
Well I am not in the forrest today, due to things that were planned before the revised schedule :(
Too bad since today the differences will imo be much bigger than yesterday.
just to remind... one and only normal working splits - https://sport.postimees.ee/wrc/splittimes
Katsutas time faster than EVans yesterday
Suninen thinks its better to start from the back
Did Janne say "aja kulta..."?
Ogier much more relaxed this year.
Tanak fastest at first split
Tänak holding up witht he Toyotas but so difficultto make differences today, eberybody knowns the stages
Tänak and Neuville both complaining about stiff suspension
amazing Evans!
Wow what a progress every split from Evans. It's not just fastest time like it bang. Constant every split faster. Impressive, impressive. Never expect that from Evans
im gonna make a early predicton too now(like many here)
Evans will be champion this year, i havent seen something as impressive as this in a long time. i can see him getting even faster as the season progresses
Evans all over the place at the end. Could see the marks from Mads incar...
135.4 km/h for Evans
Did Tänak almost say he is missing Toyota (that go-kart feeling)?
Anyway, too early to say Evans is the biggest championship contender, remember how Latvala was at this part of the season in 2017. Hyundai is strong on the technical gravel rallies and there will be four of them coming next. I'm ready to place Tänak as no1 on my pickems for Mexico.
Tänak will fix this car in a month a two, he did the same to Yaris too. Lappi told in his interview on the Tänak Movie extra DVD, that they all thought Yaris is as fast as it can be but then came Ott and after some rallies requested change to dampers and bang, car was much faster.
let's wait till proper rallies with normal road conditions..
I'm sure Tänak will make the Hyundai better, because he has much more experience with current WRC cars, while Neuville only knows Hyundai and I think he is ,,out of ideas'' what to change or do with the car
8 out of 13 rounds are dry gravel, most of it slow. How Evans (and Toyota) will do on that is a big question still. However his step up when changing the car is truly amazing. Especially considering how he compared with Ogier in same car in 2018.
-------------
Tbh I think Neuville doesn't even think that it's strange to do that anymore. He is just used to use the handbrake to turn in every corner.
Pontus: "Grip - OK, stage - was good, all - incredible...." but you lost 10sec to stage winner. HOW? If all was very OK
It is going to be super weird seeing Evans and Rovanperä completely dominate Tänak in Finland, in which is his strongest rally.
It's require time and... testing days that slightly limited nowdays. Also we must remember that it's same car as Neuville drove. Hyundai can't develop two different cars for Tanak and Nueville. So if Tanak will fix car - he fix car for himself and Neuville not gonna be happy with that, cuz he has different driving style.
That's how I understood his comment as well. When asked what he was missing he said "that gokart feeling" (which he had in Toyota)
Depends on how much actually can be changed and how much they will want to change if it makes Neuville slower. On tarmac based on Loeb and Mikkelsen it looked like things actually couldn't be changed.
Tänak is WDC, Neuville is not and Adamo wants to win.. if Tänak asks to try something different and fix the possible problem, then I think Adamo would listen Tänak and find the solution..
RC2 has very tight to groups with great battles. P1-P4, P5-P7. Hope Oliver can make much better day today
