SS19: Mikkelsen shock! - WRC+ tracking system shows WRC 2 leader Mikkelsen stopped at 2km! #WRC
oh shit Mikkelsen stopped
Mikkelsen rolled according to wrc.com
Sun 13:24 - Mikkelsen update
WRC TV crew reports that Mikkelsen has rolled. He continued briefly but then stopped.
Deserved PS win for Tänak, he was one of the faster if not the fastest drivers this event. Only 5 points between him and Latvala now.
Mikkelsen rolled :O
This is ridiculous.
He tried to go for a power stage point?
Mikkelsen reminds that you need always to be concentrated... even if you have a 3min lead, even if you near TOP3 best rally driver in a world
Well done Mr.Ogier. More than deserved victory (and a much needed-victory, too..). I'm very very happy for him and the team, of course. The new car is definitely progress in the right direction.
Neuville can be also very satisfied with second place, he is still in the fight for the championship.
Sordo- avoiding troubles, tactical approach showed again benefit. Hyundai collected a lot of manu points.....
Tanak-fast, but missing some luck.
Hanninen-best Toyota in the finish (although not the fastest one...), but he must be happy already to finish without supperrally rule....
Mikkelsen-donkey of the whole weekend.....
Finally Ogier is clearly fastest this year. King of Portugal no matter south or nord.
Fairplay from Neuville to honestly say Seb is just faster. No childish excuses, no sick ego, no hatred. You will never see that from Paddon for example.
Mikelsen just showed that noone was wrong for not putting him in unfamiliar car to fight for positions.
Woah, unexpected Paddon hate. I wouldn't say he's my favorite, but in the battle of biggest egos I think Neuville beats Paddon by miles. Hell, he's got a bigger ego than Ogier did in 2011.
As for Mikkelsen, I don't rate him as highly as most people do, but for him to be in an R5 while someone like Lefebvre or Hanninen is in a works WRC car is a farce.
Ott Tänak @OttTanak
'Ending Rally Portugal on a high with maximum points on the Power Stage! We finish fourth overall and are hungrier than ever !'
See, I said a good performance would keep him more motivated.
Happy to see M-sport guys back on winning course.
Its too early to judge Mikkelsen, maybe it can also happened by tech. failure?anf if not this thing happened, remember Ogier few years ago in Spain?!
Colin Clark @voiceofrally
And to think, I had concerns about reliability at the start of the year. Just the most unbelievable job Mr Wilson and his team are doing.
You weren't the only one Col, plenty on here. :)

Sébastien Ogier @SebOgier
"I'm happy with the car. Thank you @MSportLtd, they deserve it, it’s a team effort".
The rest had better watch out now.. ;)
Not a tech failure.
"Right-hand corner, second gear, hit a rock and we were flipped around... My mistake totally! #RallyPortugal over for us at SS19. #WRC2"

To sum up, the same as I watched when I saw the cars testing. Ogier drives on Saturdays in Loeb mode. It was clear this morning that the job was done, so he can also drive on Sundays in safe mode. M-Sport people are also doing their job. The car is clearly much more reliable and efficient than in past seasons. Of course, a huge percentage of the improvement has arrived with Ogier, contributing with his knowledge after driving for the best teams of the last years. A clear probe of what I say is both Tanak and Evans performances nowadays.

Must say well done to Seb Ogier, again he has proven to us why he has taken the WDC in the past 4 years and why he will take it this year, if M-Sport manage to capitalize on that & take the manufacturer crown this year also and convince Ford to comeback all ready after 5 years of waiting it will be great. As for the others, another fine podium for the Hyundai pair of Neuville & Sordo, hopefully next time Paddon will be more lucky and be able to fight @ the front 'till (and including) the last stage. Toyota have shown another solid performance considering the circumstances, not a bad debut for Lappi, and even though again Hanninen finally finished the rally without superrally rules, he still isn't anywhere near the top runners in terms of pace. However, it is still more than can be said on Stephane, honestly apart from him being french I still have no idea why he is in the 3rd Citroen seat & not Mikkelsen. Meeke again showed us his driving style makes him do silly mistakes, which are tbh costly mistakes both for him & for Citroen. I honestly don't know how they are going to retain the numbers 7-8-9 on their cars next year, I hope PSA won't pull the plug and if they do at least, I hope they bring back Peugeot. Breen as far as I'm concerned is their only glimmer of hope atm. Again he showed us just what he is made of, and when things went right for him on Friday he was among the quickest, another solid result for him. Imho, if Citroen will leave the WRC fold by 2018 I really hope that boy finds a seat in the championship as he deserves it.
Someone asked why Tanak didn't get any time back from SS7, no dust and passes Latvala at 16:10

Yes he crashed when nothing was at stake. Just like Ogier did in Spain 2015. Neuville crashed out from clear lead twice this year remember?
Mikkelsen's overall "crash rate" is below average from the top drivers for last 2 years. As for fighting for positions, in Australia it was Ogier who made a mistake fighting for win with him. Ogier that had nothing to loose (and Ogier is arguably the most crash-free driver atm.), Mikkelsen had everything to loose at that point. No seat, low chances of getting one and only 2 rally wins, both of them partly handed to him.
So this comment of yours is just complete bs. Sure it was a mistake, that's about it.
Good work from Breen and Lappi.Thank God, Ogier stopped complaining and put his head down. This not the VW Seb.This is Ford.Keep your head down and try for the best.No comment for Meeke or Lefebvre.Evans and Tanak did a good work bringing the Fiestas home.A lot of problems for Paddon again. Not his year.Neuville didn't overpush and remained calm.Got the points, so he still has a chance.
