Thats how it is, the rules should be followed, and if the team dont, then exclusion is the right way to go.Quote:

But its normal that in factory teams the penalties are less severe because they are the ones who sustain the WRC.
I think we need Al-attyah in this thread...the guy has more exclusions than starts....
That rings a bell. I think Hänninen's underwear were fireproof but the FIA stamp had expired. Should find some article on this, though it's irrelevant to this discussion.Quote:

Very nice photos.
On the latest GPweek there's an article on the anti-cutting poles, also with a question addressed to Michelen representative on their role to the decision made. He of course denies. In the same article it says that FIA had banned the use of gravel sections on asphalt stages for 2012. Gravel stages can have short distances of tarmac, though.
On Ford's tactic on Power Stage, MTV3 commentator, former co-driver Tomi Tuominen says that Jarmo Lehtinen said to team radio after they had completed "One mistake, Jari-Matti flat out" and that information was sent to Miika Anttila. This was told to Tuominen by Lehtinen and also comfirmed by Anttila. Tuominen put commentary to the stage on live broadcast and he didn't save his words when he saw JML beating Mikko's time, but in retrospective that was of course the only way to do it, because it could've been that Fords would end up 4-5 on Power Stage and that would've been a screw up.
I remember that once Grönholms car was underwight and it was explained that he had an accident and a few kilograms of the car remained to the stage and it was OK. Solbergs car was in one piece but probably the fuel consumption was bigger than team expected.Quote:

I put him on my ignore list. And it feels fantastic not to read about "sick dogs" anymore!Quote:

Hmm... I just noticed that Petter has also been removed from all stage time sheets at wrc.com. Did he not win four stages and lead the rally after stages 7 and 10? According to wrc.com, he did not.
i don't know how exclusions work exactly...maybe you get excluded from the whole event and all your wins and places are being revoked
That's what I am researching at the moment because it's been a while since a prominent driver was excluded from a rally. Hence, I am not sure when I last would have paid any attention to this. However, I am under impression that exclusion wouldn't retroactively remove results from previous stages.Quote:

Unfortunately wrc.com archives don't go that far into history any longer.Quote:

Thanks, but the question is whether I will list "Solberg, Petter 4" on this page or not.Quote:

Anything before 2002 doesn't count. WRC only started when ISC took over...... ;)Quote:
