Has anyone else seen this?

Nice model but it's ashame it's the wrong car! The 94 4door car has been used rather than the 2 door coupe.
I wonder how much it will go for and how many people have noticed it's wrong?
Funny you should say that, i did a little research after i place my bid on it :) and noticed that too but im sure it will go for silly money so im not bothered if i don't win it.
It's a lot of money for a 4 door 1993 BMW!
At least the seller is right, It is very rare! Possibly one of a kind. But still wrong..
I saw it when it was listed, but knew it was wrong, the model looks good and i would buy it myself, but i would not pay more than twenty quid. Clearly somone else is willing to pay a high price for it though. Good luck to whoever that might be :)
I'm winning it at the moment, as you say it looks great and i know my chances of finding a correct one is very slim.
You could make your own as you can but the decals from Germany and convert a couple of different models/kits
How much would you pay for a 'proper' one?Quote:

Funnily enough that was the model I used!
Just taken delivery of Adam Jones' Leon. Got it from a Spanish seller for £16 in total! Took 5 days to arrive, amazing. Some UK sellers should take a leaf from their book!
It's a nice model isn't it!
I'm hoping they decide to do a Boardman BTCC 2010/11 model some time.
It's really nice for the money. I actually think it's the Altaya distributor that I bought it from, going by what's on the invoice.
A Boardman model would be good, as would the other Leons we've seen here. But I think those are only ever likely to be available if somebody does a conversion, which is a shame.
In the last couple of days I've received the two TWR Volvo 850's from the BTCC in 1995 in 1:18 scale. Fully opening and fully detailed, they are stunning! Going for about £100 on Ebay or £130 at GPL. I got my Rydell one for £70 by reserve ordering ages ago!! Well worth that price.
Rydell Estate supposed to be released this year too. The models are really really good, had some problems with the Rydell one that had to go back but replacement arrived this morning and is perfect. Anyone whose had a V8 Supercar 1:18 model from Australia will know what to expect, full wiring and cockpit detail inside, as well as having fully opening doors, bonnet and boot. Lovely models.
I've added 4 more car to my collection! I found a company that make roundals and number so have been able to make a couple of older cars.

Hopefully going to make a couple more older models soon.
No real reason why they can't.. they have made a Boardman WTCC car which almost the same..Quote:

Racing Replicas are not the best, but apart from those there is not alot of choice if you want a BTCC Cavalier, ok there are the odd resin kit knocking about, but unless you are a pro builder or you know one then Racing Replica models is as good as it gets, and they are very rare. I am not at all surprised they went for 60 quid or so, indeed i have seen them fetch more.
However, you do have a valid point Iain, prices of models do seem to be higher now, which is good if you are selling. But too many of them on eBay are offered at a buy it now price, too many dealers perhaps? anyway there are not the bargains that there once was on eBay, not any more.
daz90 has hit the nail on the head, if you want a bargain Ebay is not your place anymore. There are just too many people that use it and your chances of getting a bargain are very slim. I got my 1993 cleland cavalier last year for £25 if i remember correctly but that was because i contacted the seller as soon as it came on so really its about luck.
What i do find wierd is that the RR models go for £50+ when they are limited to 7500 pieces but yet the Onyx models are limited to 2000 pieces but go for between £10-30? But as Iain says models are going for crazy prices at the moment maybe because BTCC is more popular than what it was a few years ago when you could get the models very cheap.
I did a deal with someone last week for an RR 1995 Valvoline Mondeo for £30, sorry if anyone was watching it ;)
I'm looking to convert a 1:18 Chevrolet Cruze model I acquired last year into a full race model. Currently it has two seat in it (both race seats) like a rally car, and is liveried in base WTCC 2009 colours (no numbers, driver names, colours etc). I'm undecided as to whether to just do a simple conversion into a WTCC 2009 car, probably Menu's, or something a bit harder, like turning it into Plato's championship winning Cruze of '10, which would require custom decals of which I have no experience. Either way I'm going to have to get some 1:18 door plate number and window names. Anyone know of somewhere that does them?
Having a bit of a clear out and have found the following kits, if anyone is interested please PM me:
Comp 43 - Opel Kadett (Vauxhall Astra) 1990
BBR BTCC - Nissan Primera 1994 - O'DOR & NEEDELL
Formule Kit - Mazda Xedos 6 BTCC 1993 - WATTS
Formule Kit - Mazda Xedos 6 BTCC 1994 - LESLIE
Formule Kit - Toyota Carina E BTCC 1994 - HOY
Formule Kit - Toyota Carina E BTCC 1994 - BAILEY
Formule Kit - Vauxhall Cavalier BTCC 1994 - CLELAND
All are unused and complete.
It's actually a Class 2 model, but I was suprised they released this model! Stumbled onto it by accident. I thought this may interest some people!

Finished another couple of model kits, eventhough I seem to have lost the ability to use a paint brush for the fine details!

I was saying to Kilohmunns the other day it's not the time to be buying but if your planning on selling then you can make a small fortune. Good luck to the people who are prepared to pay that for some models, i wouldn't mind that 1994 cleland model but i bet it'll go for £70+. Shame i didn't start collecting like 5 years ago when the models were cheap.
I have noticed that too, they seem to be going for good money every time at the moment, where as a few years ago you'd only ever get those prices if you were lucky. I was fortunate to get most of the Racing Replica's then and paid around the £30 mark for most of the models.
You can always try an international search and see if anything crops up thats cheaper?
I would love the 1995 Radisich Mondeo, i have the Burt one, however i am unable to buy anything at the minute, i moved to Romania from England a few months ago, and i was using my ebay uk account here, however they seem to think that i was being hacked when i signed in, and now they have buggered it up for me, my password is now locked and i cant get a new one....
Oh, and my collection is still in England, all nicely boxed up ready for next summer when i can reunite myself with it properly, however the wife seems to think that they are toys and our son can play with them!!! so i might be forced to sell them yet, they will never be used as toys!
Hey guys! Just to let you know if you didnt know already that the first 1:18 Ford Sierra has been announced from Biante. 1988 Andy Rouse Kaliber car. £129.99 from GPL and £159.99 signed again from GPL.
Glad to see they are starting to filter through
Are Biante an Australian company?
I vaguely remember them making alot of the Aussie touring cars, i have a John Cleland Falcon, and i think that is a Biante model.
They are limited to 500 so surely they can only go up in value unlike the 1/18 volvo's. I would like one but don't have the money.
Yes they are.. they making stunning models.Quote:

Has ebay gone totally mad???
JOHN CLELAND VAUXHALL CAVALIER 1:43 TOURING CAR -RARE- on eBay (end time 11-Jun-11 20:29:37 BST)
You could probably buy a real Vauxhall cavalier for that!!!
I'll sell my Cleland cavalier for that, any takers please pm me lol
Wish i had my racing replica Cavaliers with me, at 160 quid a pop i could be rich again!
Its definatly good time to sell!
Don't think it will happen again, if you look at the bidding history only 2 people were after the model. So when the next one comes up it will probably go for alot cheaper.
As I haven't been able to go to ant meetings so far this year due to mainly family commitments I thought I'd spend some of the money I have saved on a couple more models for the collection :D
Plus I've finished off a couple more kits I've needed to do for a long time (only another 10 to do before I've caught up!)
These are the models I've bought
1977 Richard Lloyd VW Gold GTi (Vanguard)
1977 BTCC - 46 - Volkswagen - Lloyd | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1995 Derek Warwick Alfa Romeo (not quite right when I got it as it is on a 1994 Minichamps base so the splitter isn't right, I also had to add a proper rear wing as well -still looks OK though)
1995 BTCC - 55 - Alfa Romeo - Warwick | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1995 Gabriele Tarquini Alfa Romeo (same issues as the Warwick car)
1995 BTCC - 1 - Alfa Romeo - Tarquini | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1993 Ray Bellm BMW 318i (Rae models - need to replace that auwful seat)
1993 BTCC - 11 - BMW - Bellm | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1994 Jeff Allam Vauxhall Cavalier (Formule kit made by Grand Prix models)
1994 BTCC - 9 - Vauxhall - Allam | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
And the 2 I have made myself
1994 Will Hoy Toyota Carina (Formule kit)
1994 BTCC - 9 - Vauxhall - Allam | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1994 Patrick Watts Peugeot 405 (Formule kit)
1994 BTCC - 18 - Peugeot - Watts | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Hopefully I will get some more kits done in the near future.
Very nice Kilohmuns! i especially like the 94 Jef Allam Cavalier. How big is your collection now? if you dont mind me asking that is!
Currently 183 'finished' models!
I still have around 10 kits to make and a few conversions to do before I have causght up with everything.
There is still the Vanguard 85 Rouse Sierra to come out and Spark have announced a 1960s Steve Neal Britax Mini Cooper as some point in the future.
That 200 mark is getting ever closer.
Impressive! as for myself, i will consider my collection to be complete once i have the last of the Onyx cars added, i think i just need 2 now, a 98 Leslie and the 99 Radermaker Volvo, then i will have every Onyx BTCC car. Ofcourse the 85 Rouse Sierra is a must also, and if i get a chance and some spare cash i really want the 1995 Volvo 850 in 1/18 scale too.
Cant buy anything at the minute though, my eBay account is broken due to me logging in here in Romania, they seem to think i am hacking my own account! and my collection is not with me and i cant remember exactly what i do and dont have. Cant wait for next summer though to be reunited with them, of all the things i miss from England, i miss my collection of BTCC cars, Nottingham Forest, (City ground, former season ticket holder) oh and my family too.
