Nice close up in the Manus.. Toyota just 8 pts down now.
Is it first time during this season where Meeke and Latvala contributed to tanaks wdc ambition?
cmon Ott and Martin cheer up, you look like on funeral on the podium
@TeemuSuninenRac
Yess! Second fastest and four extra points from Power Stage with time 7.31,5 - just 1,3 from @thierryneuville. The last two days were really good to us. We could show our speed on tarmac.

Any informations of Sordo and possibly Lappi checking in two minutes late at the final time control?
I'm happy about Meeke finally getting a good result. Now all works drivers have a podium for this year.

Congrats to Tanak/Jarveoja and Toyota. Hope their competitors will be able to provide a harder fight in Turkey; this podium looked as a Yaris Rally Cup celebration...

Been long overdue.
Unlucky puncture while leading Mexico, when he should've been finishing 2nd. Car issues/ puncture/ time penalty combined when Ogier pipped him to the podium on the last stage in Argentina, and then inexcusably chucking away 2nd and then 3rd place in rally portugal on the last day/stage. Overstepping the limit in Finland as well when that should've been another podium, despite the consequences of hitting that rock being unlucky vs how Latvala got off lightly.
Story of what might have been this year. It's poor conversion considering the positions he's been in, and that will make it doubly annoying for Meeke/Toyota because these tiny margins would've had him comfortably 4th in the championship and Toyota better off in the manufacturers.
However on the flipside of that, it's not like he's had a bad season in terms of being lost and miles off the pace in his first year in the Yaris. Let's see what he can do for the rest of the season, Turkey will be difficult though - 4th on the road now and wasn't there last year. Yaris struggled a bit for pace too (compared to how fast it is normally).
heres a short clip of the movie just released now (because of the win) https://www.facebook.com/otttanakmov...0800513232768/
in the behind the scenes photos i see a lot of pics with him smiling and etc, i think its just that he is so concentrated during the stages

Guys, can you help me figure something out? What is the point of the final time control?
To me it seems silly to have something that can affect the results after the award ceremony. There may be mechanical problems which prevent drivers getting there in time or teams may simply use it to shuffle the standings around as has been the case several times. Why not end the rally at the finish line of power stage?
I can understand the nessecity of time controls and time penalties regarding it before stages - you need it to make sure everyone is at the start line at the correct time in correct order so the proper flow of the event can be quaranteed. Makes perfect sense. But what is so important about the final time control that it needs to dictate the rally results?
I have several unanswered questions in my mind about the rules since I started watching WRC in more detail last year, in the light of Rally germany I thought I would try and clear this one.

Well, the fight for the WMC should be a great one. Adamo's calculations with the lineup vs the unstoppable Tanak and awakened Meeke and Latvala.
I can't see Ogier retaining the title, the C3 is just not the championhsip car. Turkey is a hasard for anyone and there is a cleaning effect, the same goes for Australia if the championship will be opened then at all. Half tarmac Spain will also cost Ogier a lot since C3 is a proven blunder on that surface. Not even close to being enough to come back from -40.
Well this is how rallies are arranged. The podium at the end of the power stage is a fake podium only for television. The results are always provisional at that point. Basically even the winner could still retire on the last road section.
Rally Sweden ends so close to the service park that they can show the actual podium on TV.
