Ostberg is faster as JML on power stage
Championship is finished.
Congratulations to all VW team :)
Great job Esapekka and Janne!
Not trying to be corky or anything, but isn't Hirvonen the driver with the most 2nd places in the history of the WRC?
Yet another poor rally for M-Sport... now beaten regularly by VW and Citroen... :(
Maybe now I understand why Ford pulled out of the official support.
No, Carlos Sainz is. Hirvonen is on 4th place:Quote:

Thanks (great site, btw). Little surprised that even Loeb beats Hirvonen on 2nd places...Quote:

Not very much fighting with this rally?
By the way in the end VAG brands copy each other - both VW and Škoda takes same podium positions in their championships :D
Offs are usually a result of fighting...Quote:

Wasn't Novikov penalized recently because of the Dmack tyres?Quote:

3 overall WRC wins in a row - and 3 Power stage wins in a row for Ogier. Loeb better stop this in Argentina :)
Well, he couldn't stop it from starting in Sweden...Quote:

In that case eiteher you will have good pickem results or wil be satisfaid because your favourite drivers are in good positions.
Who can change something in this Year of S. Ogier? I little wandering, there must be 2 changes - Loeb is back to WRC, Latvala back to Ford. Now, for me only interesting thing is all news from Hyundai.

@Kielder
nice photos, tell us more about the rally.
Just got back from Algarve.
Brilliant weekend, had a blast. This was by far one of the best I attended, even if the competition was not too tough.
Ogier was always very impressive, neat and you could see how he is good on saving tyres. Latvala very impressive aswell, and very commited. Even today in Almodovar with only front wheel drive and even thought the car was going all over the place he was still trying, shame he lost the 2nd place which would be his best result in Portugal.
Im surprised Hirvonnen isn't faster, he was taking quite a few risks in the beginning of the rally and I was surprised at his times, it looked quite faster than what it actually was, maybe the DS3 doesn't suit him very well.
Mikkelsen very smart and still quite fast, boh Lappi and Wiegand very impressive aswell in their Fabia's.
Sordo was going quite well too, shame about his off, could be in the podium for sure. Novikov very steady.
Everyone was talking about a return to the north of the country, and I understand that, however coming back from such a great weekend with sun and beer ofcourse, I still think the rally as it is now is almost perfect, it would be such a shame to see such places being forgotten from one year to another. This rally is by far one of the toughest and I think sometimes we forget a rally has to be a challenge not only about speed. Everyone on the final ramp without superrally deserves my sincere congratulations.
Btw, the VW service area looks like a proper manufacturing warehouse, it is that impressive.
It really looked like he was on the limit on some stages. Perhaps you're right about DS3, something is not right with his braking, the corner speed looks good, but I think too much sideways.Quote:
