I think teams are still a bit cautious, being it the first game, one that you don't want to loose. I thought Ivory Coast - Portugal was ok, but it deserved a goal, at least for Ivory Coast who I thought were the better of the two.

...and now everyone's expecting Brazil to score 5-6 goals against Korea :p :

Don't you think this is typical Team Italy Football.
They play below their ability against teams they should beat, and employ the
Catenaccio against the better teams, relying on counter-attacks for offense!

They looked vulnerable to counter-attacks against Paraguay in the second half, and if Paraguay had any legs left they may have scored again. In reality their only real chances were on corners and free kicks. In the end Italy just had better/faster athletes IMO.
But they were very flat in the first half!

Yes normally Italy preferes to let the opponents attack us and then counter attack them, unless we absolutely need to win the match. As for Paraguay, it looks like the most of you have forgotten how strong they are and how easy they've qualified them self to this World Cup, against big squad like Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay etc...Also don't forget that Italy always starts very slow, and in Italy we say : Chi va piano, va sano e lontano :p :

I wont comment on Italy yesterday. They never start strong....but win somehow.

I really enjoyed the Ivory Coast vs Portugal. The Ivory Coast really had the pressure on..and I was hoping they would bag one before it ended...

I'm really impressed with that first half from North Korea. It was a masterclass of how to defend. Something the Brazilians should have learned how to do at the last World Cup *cough* (Roberto Carlos leaving Henry unmarked).
