Bugger, what a shame for Alex Lloyd. Just when I thought it was a fantastic day for the British drivers. Hope he gets 4th then, at least.Quote:

Top drives from them all, though - loved seeing Conway, Wilson and Dario pretty much leading the pack. I really do like Justin Wilson - such a classy guy and really deserving of a high finish on an oval to help shake off the road course specialist tag.
Lloyd I'm still annoyed with for slamming the door on Wilson at Long Beach, but it was still good to see him running up front.

Broken left leg for Conway. No news yet as to the extent of the injury. If #24 car is up for grabs, temporarily, then Scheckter will probably get the ride as a stand-in.

The economic downturn is a recent event. The Indianapolis 500 downturn has been going on for over a decade.Quote:

Isn't it a comeback? Good thing they can count on you not showing up.Quote:

Indy doesn't release any "official" attendance figures so we will never really know. Fact is there were thousands of empty seats at an event that use to sell out months ahead of time.
An uptick in ratings of 0.5 is nothing.
Lets see what the rating are.
I enjoyed it although I used my PVR to give me the "Coles Notes" version of it. Because of all the carnage in the race there were a lot of restarts and that's where all the action happened. Otherwise, this race was Franchitti's to lose with no long green period dicing. Who said fuel racing was boring? It made the last few laps pretty tense. Curious to know what happened with Conway and RHR. It almost looked as if RHR ran out of fuel and Conway drove over him? I'd also like to hear how Tagliani just melted out of contention. Good to see Dario make amends with his wife for the last Indy 500 win brush off. ;)
