No, the bank he mentioned was on ss13 after Neuville's crash, there was a black ice on left corner, the car slid and bumped a little on a bank. On this video there is nothing like that, just small excursion on a small ditch I believe.

Evans has had some impressive pace but I guess we've seen the same thing from him in the past too - extremely fast one day, extremely slow another and he never seems to know why. If he can figure out the key to the fast days and do that consistently he could be a real contender.
For once i have to slightly agree, it's a bit strange when you could be faster with a standard STI or EVO on softer stock studded tyres.
This year i guess you could have got away with running the old short studded tyre like this, ruins the tarmac a bit though. Not sure what they did with the brakes back then as 16" won't fit over tarmac brakes.

Tänak and Ogier seem to get along very good, so far :p
thoughts to end of Saturday:
Impressive debut for Toyota. All of those doom seekers proved wrong.
Monte Carlo is indeed different to all the other events, but first time out of the box is very very good.
Great results so far for Ford also. Ogier and Tanak going well.
Hyundai obviously have the pace, and may well be the best car.
Citroen: not as good as expected.
Neuville not as good mentally as the World Champion, making little mistakes when there was no need to push given the cushion he had.
Ogier is the world champion. New car, new team, and doing well.
Still another day to go.
Remembering that Monte Carlo is a very different event.
