New Toyota wing tested in Greece
https://i.imgur.com/zP4ARM4.jpg
This is the wing used in Germany. Don't see any changes since then and nothing in common with the "secret" wing they tested in Finland.
Is this a picture from the test in Greece that was before Germany?
Yep, but it looks like its moved tighter to the rear of the car ?
How sure are you that this pic is not from pre-Germany testing?
Why would they first test a much smaller wing with massive changes in Finland and then go back to Greece with same wing?

I notice in the link above that they are not using the electro-hydraulic system generally used on the rally stages. I can't even see the gear paddle behind the steering wheel. Anyone know the reason for this?
Cost savings?
Paddle is obviously there in place. I can see two reasons - paddle shifting system was broken and they continued driving with manual shifting or they were testing/checking backup system, as sometimes you need to do it. For sure it was not cost saving, you can see he needed to use clutch as cut-off system is not working without paddle, so for sure it was worse for gearbox internals/clutch than fully functioning paddle.
That was not a test but codrives for journalists in Ford Performance Drive days. Next day with Pontus paddle shift worked fine again.
Now we got an uncensored test clip of the new Yaris rear wing

I think the video is edited to pause for a couple of times, I thought my internet was frozen :D

I don’t remember seeing such a dry conditions.
Heavy rain is coming from Sunday and next week is to be cool and unsettled. Road conditions could well be quite different by the time of the rally.
Yep. Check out Tanak's 2018 PET: https://twitter.com/Andrew_Eds/statu...90605204168704

Yeah, anybody testing from now onwards should be able to get more representative conditions, weather wise.
Bit unfortunate, would've rathered all the title chasing boys had equal test conditions, but looks like Tanak got lucky. Neuville and Ogier in the dry.
As for the others, looks like Meeke was testing for Portugal :D. Msport will have more typical GB conditions as I don't think they've tested yet, just wonder whether they will test at their own gaff or in Wales.
Any videos of Evans testing in Wales? Anybody know when it was?

Watcinhg these test vids got me thinking about how the decision is made about what set up is the best.
Times can't be that important, since the road is cleaner after every run and the driver starts to remember the stage.
So what data is being used to make the decision?
